I don't think you will ever get it right but maybe you should look at all types of members and how they sell birds.

We all know or if not soon get to know the genuine fanciers who are willing to help other members or the site, the ones that only appear when they are selling or wanting something, the ones that sell the odd spare bird or the feather merchant.

I think £25 for 12 adverts is really cheap and my I suggest it should be more, anyone selling that amount of times is not just selling his excess stock he is verging on being a dealer but not always the case.

A tier or some would say a tear system would be better to cater for all or most and not just some would be far fairer and would cause less grief and moaning :-/

Points taken Duncan.

I still think the best method was the one created by Richard, however it didnt work for whatever reason - It isnt for Fifer or myself to judge that method and as i said we both rated the system but couldnt see a way to implement it succesfully.

We plan to keep this method for the forseeable future although we will certainly listen to the members on how to improve it and will reassess it on a regular basis.

The £25 fee - Some will think its cheap and some will not agree with it at all - It would at 10% i would think cost people more than the £25 in a year however we are looking to offer value to the members with the Gold membership whilst having a figure that will help support the running costs of the site.

Hope this anwsers some of what was on your post.

I agree, its a step forward and will benefit the site.

We all know the members who pop up to advertise yb's but don't contribute on threads, maybe they shouldn't get approval until they also become regular contributors as well!

100% correct

the £25 is for a year the 12 sales is the limit in that year, yes this is only for a year, thats why there is another option if you are only having a few sales IE: the £7-50 one,

fair play alf   ;) all we have tried to do is get a system that suits the users of the site we cant suit everybody as there a large membership over 100 users a night i dont think we could of come up with a system that everybody agrees with im sure both vallance and fifer will take on the opinions of members but we had to start somewhere and to me i have to be honest this system does seem fair

this is why we are introducing the gold year payment and the £7-50 one, they pay to regester, the old ones on 10% they only made payments after the sales and probably waited til they got their sale money in, there were good  members who did pay

We think this way will be better and its fair,
