pjc Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 same here phil didnt recieve any acknowledgement to my donation. thought it would be common curtisy and to at least know it had gone into BASICS account!
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 I don't make any money on the feed, anyone can collect it from the farm at the same price, in fact at £3.50 a bag it costs me to to go and get and take it along to the shows but I don't helping other fanciers, I asked for an extra 50p for Aberdeen because I am taking 30+ bags 100+ miles to cover the extra diesel and hauling a trailer as I cannot get all that in my van :-/ Thats what im saying mate. Would these new guidelines affect things such as this? Would you still be able to 'advertise' this good deed?
pigeonpete Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 same here phil didnt recieve any acknowledgement to my donation. Not making excuses, but all i can say on the subject, is it must have been while richard was having a timeout from the site. I can only say a big thanks on there behalf. And now the site is on the up, And in the new owners hands, Im sure it will run alot smoother. And that is no disrespect to Richard :-)

catchthepigeon Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Regardless if richard was having time out from the site he still would have recieved the donations he could have phoned one of the admin or mods to tell them it had been recieved and something as simple as a pm saying thankyou would be nice Another point i would like to make is that now pb is running the selling of stuff as a business wont they have to pay taxes on this

Guest IB Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 correct, an annual tax return will need to be completed and I hope that Vallance and Fiffer have a seperate account set up for this venture. Would that apply to sellers too? Declaring their income from sales to the tax man? The money goes towards the running of the site. It doesn't run on thin air.
DOVEScot Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 [/color] Cant see any problem with that if you are a genuine buyer. would happen simular if you were at a auction. I think anyone bidding on a forum auction should be a known registered member amongst the members and or at least known to the Admin of the site. I think forums should ban PM bids as it leaves auctions open to deception. Just my opinion :-/

It doesn't run on thin air. Anybody earning extra income from where ever or what ever is supposed to declare it. I know the majority of donations will go towards the site running costs but it should still be declared!
catchthepigeon Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 NO IT wont apply to sellers as your the customer using there service

catchthepigeon Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Will people who have there own pigeon shops for feed be charged to advertise there shops
retired Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Fifer and myself have split the topic that was created on the guidelines thread. We understand there will be questions regarding the new system, and also further ideas and feedback on it. If anyone has any questions etc we will do our best to answer them for you.
pjc Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 for members to become "gold" how long does the process take?
pigeonpete Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 for members to become "gold" how long does the process take? As soon as you provide all the relevant details, and paid your money
Guest strapper Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 do gold members get a £100 booze hamper each year b4 xmas 8) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
retired Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 do gold members get a £100 booze hamper each year b4 xmas 8) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Afraid not - Fifer is typically Scottish ;D
DOVEScot Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 I don't think you will ever get it right but maybe you should look at all types of members and how they sell birds. We all know or if not soon get to know the genuine fanciers who are willing to help other members or the site, the ones that only appear when they are selling or wanting something, the ones that sell the odd spare bird or the feather merchant. I think £25 for 12 adverts is really cheap and my I suggest it should be more, anyone selling that amount of times is not just selling his excess stock he is verging on being a dealer but not always the case. A tier or some would say a tear system would be better to cater for all or most and not just some would be far fairer and would cause less grief and moaning :-/ JMO

sapper756 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Maybe worth giving the new process a chance, and then fifer ans vallance can review it, in say 12 months time :-/ JMO
pjc Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Maybe worth giving the new process a chance, and then fifer ans vallance can review it, in say 12 months time :-/ JMO I agree, its a step forward and will benefit the site. We all know the members who pop up to advertise yb's but don't contribute on threads, maybe they shouldn't get approval until they also become regular contributors as well!
retired Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Just going to try and clear up a few questions from earlier in the thread that i (and i dont think) Fifer has anwsered. Buyer Conditions - Mentioned by LWB - We are currently working on a system with regards to buyers on the site and a method to detract unsavoury bidders and to protect the sellers -As has always been practice the seller has the right to have a selling thread locked and all interest be declared via PM. Company Advertising - Also something we are working on - We have a few options on this to think about regarding how to work it - Any companies that are interested can drop either Fifer or myself a PM as spaces will be very strictly limited.
