IF U MAKE URSELF A GOLD MEMBER 4 A YEAR I THINK ITS ONLY RITE THAT U CAN SELL HOWEVER MANY BIRDS OR ITEMS U WANT IN THAT YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST A THOUGHT ! If you have 12 birds to sell in one go , which would be one advertisement of your usage allowance as long as they are all put on at once, and I think it is quite fair doing it at 12 ads for £25 which is only just a touch over £2 per ad which works out cheaper than sending a larger donation every time you sell something, just my thoughts though

And also as we hardly had any donations from sellers in the past, So this is a step forward for both buyer and seller in my opinion :-)
BLACK W F Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 £25 if any one not happy with paying that should put there advert into one of the weeklys see how they get on in my opinion thats a nominal fee very cheap and if i was a seller would thank them very much captive audiance for 12 adverts at £25 best value i ever seen
PREMIER COURIERS UK Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Thats great value please could you tell me the charge for adds from pigeon couriers,as on other sites i have a banner which i pay for but others are listed for free.......PREMIER COURIERS UK.
Guest lenwadebob Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Well worth the money. Would cost a lot more to put ads in the pigeon weeklies. Would also be good if there could be a system in place to stop bogus buyers. Perhaps submitting full name, address, telephone number etc. via pm to the seller, before your bid is accepted. Would stop people bidding and then disappearing into the ether, as has happened to me on a Charity Auction. Would also stop those who sit there until the final seconds of an auction, then outbidding a well intentioned buyer.

frank-123 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 charity sales will they be ok or will they have to pay £25 or the one off fee can you have more than twelve sales like pay £50 get 24 sales?
THE FIFER Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 charity sales will they be ok or will they have to pay £25 or the one off fee can you have more than twelve sales like pay £50 get 24 sales? no m8 they will be free, yes if you pay double fees you will have double limit.
retired Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 The rules have been placed on in a similar way to a fair usage policy as per most things you sign up for now. We were very reluctant to change the selling system on site but due to a very poor response over the last 12 months or so to the previous rules (10% of each sale) hands were tied really.

Guest joshdonlan Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 what would happen if your item/bird didnt sell? How long woulod it remain on site and could you keep bumping it? Will there be an overhaul in the for sale section?
Guest strapper Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 does this new ruling apply to current for sale birds, or any new sales as from the posting of these rules?
pigeonpete Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 does this new ruling apply to current for sale birds, or any new sales as from the posting of these rules? Current birds are allowed to stand paul, that were placed before the new selling system :-)

pjc Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 What pee'd me off the first time I sold birds for a friend of mine on here before he died from Cancer was that I made a donation as I said I would do but I did not receive any form of acknowledgement! Maybe a simple, "thank you for your donation" would go a long way! Also how about adding a feedback system like ebay for sellers and buyers?
DOVEScot Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Personally I think £25 it is cheap for 12 adverts but don't think you should compare it to any magazine that has a huge circulation. I suggested similar to this ages ago but it never materialised. I also think you should have a fee for professional sellers and also couriers that make a lot more than the guys/gals that just want to sell off some extra stock to other members on the site. Chick nor I have never sold on the site in fact Chick has gave over 100 birds away to members on here over the last year :-/
pigeonpete Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Thanks for the comments so far, Im sure Archie and Chris will bear them in mind :-)
Guest Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 having read through ,would be happy with rules and regulations put forward. and with the lack of donations in the past ,can understand why. andy.
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 This may come under another category, but what about offering a service to other fanciers, such a DoveScot offering to collect corn for £4 or whatever it is. Would he need to use up 1 of his 12 adverts for advertising this service or good deed?
pjc Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 when Amtrak went belly up there were fanciers posting there travel plans regularly to help move birds around, services like this aren't realy advertising and shouldn't be charged for. Its a shame it seems to have stopped though!

Would he need to use up 1 of his 12 adverts for advertising this service or good deed? I don't make any money on the feed, anyone can collect it from the farm at the same price, in fact at £3.50 a bag it costs me to to go and get and take it along to the shows but I don't helping other fanciers, I asked for an extra 50p for Aberdeen because I am taking 30+ bags 100+ miles to cover the extra diesel and hauling a trailer as I cannot get all that in my van :-/

Cant see any problem with that if you are a genuine buyer. would happen simular if you were at a auction.
