Kyleakin Lofts Posted February 10, 2017 Author Report Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) Stirling, ranges from 30 to 90 milesBlackford, from 45 to 105Perth, 60 to 120Coupar Angus, not measured yet, but around 80 to 140Portlethen, 130 to 190Brechin, also not measured yet, but around 110 to 170Fraserburgh, 165 to 225Thurso, 200 to 260Orkney, not measured yet, but should be around 240 to 300 I am the shortest distance and Stranraer is the longest. Girvan is around 30 miles further than me. The majority are in the Kilmarnock area and are around 10 to 15 miles further than me depending just how far out from Kilmarnock that they are. We race North, I have been told, because the guys were fed up losing the doos racing South coming through the hills into Ayrshire. We still lose doos, apparently not as many, but the races are shorter, they are back quicker, and the guys are free the rest of the day, so I suppose social aspects have crept in nowadays.
