jimbo54 Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 On my first training toss with young birds ( from 5 miles ) I had a disaster losing 18 from the 22 liberated never had any reported or returned in stray basket but low and behold after all these months I have had 2 returned in the last 2 days, both birds are in perfect condition so haven't been living rough, if the so called fanciers who had these birds in wanted to keep them why didn't they report them and I would have gladly transferred them. The are both Reds so shouldn't have been overlooked in the majority of lofts.
jimbo54 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Report Posted October 13, 2016 I inherited a loft of pigeon 30 years ago from my father the late Jim Kilgour from Salsburgh this is a Old family of distance pigeons which he started in 1935, for some reason I get the occasional blue cheq reported but never seem to get any Reds reported.
Valiant Fifer Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Nothin queerer than pigeon men pal.

I never seem to get them reported either.lost 41 old birds this year not one reported all wing stamped , only one retuning on its own after over a month away . just wonder where they end up.
Valiant Fifer Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Heart breaking big fella i know but dunno what else you coulda done if their all wingstamped.Sure beggars belief.
easygaun Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 sadly just the way the fancy is going . I never seem to get them reported either.lost 41 old birds this year not one reported all wing stamped , only one retuning on its own after over a month away . just wonder where they end up.the ones that return on their own are the ones that you want. The amount of doos that go into lofts seems to be negligible, which to me is a good thing;where they go is a mystery, but it's not into other folks lofts. In fact this year i only had one yb stray to go into the stray basket
Valiant Fifer Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 I think ur right theres not as many go into other lofts as we think. Maybe it depends on where peoples loft are situated. Some get a few in and some none at all.
