I think aw birds are protected so you'll need a very god reason for wanting wan IF they exist. Would maybe find reference tae it on a Legal website or via .gov.uk site.

RSPB........Seems ye have tae go tae the Wildlife Crime Officer for consent tae trap them alive, killing isnae an option.

yes you need a licence you need your trap to get a reg number from police and a general licence from scottish national heritage

Just do it anyway , stuff them , just mek sure u gt food n water shelter in there if usin a call bird ,

Always thought that magpies were corvids same as crows jackdaws etc and as far as I know you can still shoot corvids ..

its not a problem ask for the wildlife officer in police they will give you a number to put on the trap then go on to SNH site AND DOWNLOAD general licence ,, simples old boy ,, keeps you legal

SOLWAY FEEDERS advertised on the right hand side of page have the "Larson Mate Trap". I used the larson trap in England and Wales extensively finding them to be extremely effective and at £27 its a good buy. A phone call to them will keep you right..
