JohnQuinn Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 Wee question about Your club.... How many times in the last 5 seasons has a fancier's bird/s been refused entry due to being judged unfit to enter the race ??? Personally I can only bring to mind a single instance of this but there must have been other times when unfit birds, due to illness or injury, have been allowed to enter. This then begs the question are We All responsible for sick birds going ? coz no one wants to question a fellow members judgement to send ?
greenlands Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 Been racing since I was a kid,71 now and can't say I've seen a pigeon being turned away in my club.
kingbilly 1 Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 Newmains club is verey strict on this I have witnessed birds been turned away a few times
Kojak Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 John you never said a truer word,I would say that every club should have a basket attendant who has the final word if the bird is unfit.
Uphill Lofts Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 A bird has been brought to the attention of the owners by marking committee the odd time.In general it`s due to knock or pecked eye etc. the owners have been thankful. and pulled the bird out willingly, (on some-thing they had missed.)A polite approach and every ones happy.
