In 1968 my first child was born and like yourself I made the decision your about to make thinking 20 years later I'd start up again well things dont always work out that way grand kids come along then remarried more kids then great grand kids now in my later years and after a spell of bad health I decided its now or never so almost 50 years have passed and I've finally got a loft again and a few birds , now trying to decide whether I'm too old to even contemplate racing youngsters ...TIME GOES BY A LIFETIME IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE ....Maybe just maybe your plans will pan out better than mine did ? All the very best ..And yes FAMILY should always come first

Getting the whole family involved is the secret.I always used training birds as trip out for the children, and going to the club took the wife and kids for drink at the pub too etc,Got to the stage were every one wanted me to send as it meant evening out. ^_^ Children grown up but when visiting still like to take me to the club and stop to see the lads.

I know now that I have had the pigeons I will never walk away completely from them that's why I will hold my stock...who knows after this season It may work out keeping them time will tell... I will remain a fully paid member of all organisations anyway....keeping my compound so when the time is right I will comeback.

I will race my pigeons as hard as I always do this season old birds and youngbirds and what's worth holding will be held :drinking-coffee-200:
