paddymac Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Andy it comes down to percentages as regards to measures no matter what mix, I have my birds on 100% moulting mix at the minute, when i get them through the moult I will put them on 50% moulting 50% barley. The reason I still feed moulting mix through the winter is that it is light and contains a lot of oil seeds.
paddymac Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Cut back on the lot by the amount that is left overall.I am not yet into the science of feeding.I mix my own boost feed. I feed a bagged mixture, adding beans, oats and barley at different times. If they leave some, I cut them down. If they eat it all and are not gaining weight, I look for reasons why, sometimes giving them more, sometimes not.I was told, get the feed right to win. I don't win.I might get into the science of feeding. Andy if my birds were gaining weight over the winter season I'd be worried that I was feeding too much.
dal2 Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 1980s widowhood cocks barley through from Saturday afternoon and Sunday and Monday on to better feed Tues, WED, Thur ,by Thursday night flying all over sky I had better results then than i have been getting since i started again 2013 and now i feed better seed ????Get them back on the barley lol
dal2 Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Eureka !!! If there's Barley's being left they've been fed to much. That's not my point Tony......they would rather eat pretty much anything than barley.....is that correct in your opinion?
