a long shot.....

I have limited space to have a loft, and I'm curious on a double decker in my garden !

Has anyone got one ? And what was the planning permission procedure like ??

Cheers in advance

Thought of this myself and checked it out as long as you 5 mtrs from a dwelling and it's not higher than 4.2 mtrs high that fine but rules may differ from council to council and the only reason I never went ahead is I think it would of pissed the neighbours off or mine would be two story's giving me 90 ft of loft lol

Yeah it's not 4.5 metres from the house so it will be difficult I think !

If it's not more then 2 metres from the house the max height is only 2.5 metres is what I have been reading on the Internet !

Edinburgh council is no higher than 3m for a flat roof and 4m for pitched roof and must not take up more than 2/3 of the garden/ground.

You should not require planning permission as long as it is not a permanent construction as I had my loft built on top of my double garage. The only problem I had with planning Dept was they wanted a handrail along the front in case someone fell off and I got round that by insisting it was not for the general public. Their were other minor problems which were all solved by my friendly councilor.
