Children children ...make a point or your point ....Does it always have to resort to personal insults and all the undignified crap. Cant we make the point ..beg to differ etc without the nastiness. Clearly all of us are all party to the going ons so PM each other and give us all a rest before the board goes into free fall ...we were all doing so well there.

If it is personal or a grudge use the private message

Well, someones stolen half my posts. Was going to say that there's nothing 'holy' about Holytown (private joke, 'foreigners' thinks it pronounced holy town, but us ex-locals ken better ... its hollytown, centre of god's unkempt universe)... but then the sisters sludge act came on before me and proved it to yous all .  :'(

Would have been refreshing to hear the 'ither' side of the dispute... pity punch & judy appeared without the sausages instead... any other Holytown folks out there?

Wondered what the current position was L'ool_boy? Has the Fed & SHU been involved? Have you a decent club for 2006?

celtic l would just let the idiots get on with it , what is going to happen next year or the years to come who is next to be left out of the meeting as if they cannot win or simply get on with racing there is not much anyone can do for them

Hi Shelbrain,

"No hard work,no wins".....since when????why do you want to work hard?,just sit back and enjoy your birds, when they are ready, they will tell you when they are readyto win.

Who`s trying to argue with you?,if you read my 1st post, you will see i said just concentrate on the major National race, which to you must be 600 miles, forget all about clocking in other club races.

You see  what should happen, any new fanciers coming into the sport can win for a few years, then once they learn the trade, just use club racing for training, preparation, and hit the big nationals. This way,new starters can win a few cups, and it repeats itself.

By the way, does anyone up your way fly in the nfc,out of PAU or in the BBC out of Palomas?,i should think around fraserburgh must be 1,000 miles from Palomas,if there`s any birds done that, now that`s something VERY VERY special, and i`d walk up all the way to have a look!!!!!!!

Ben, no need to go so far north. Stop off at Irvine, Ayrshire and you'll find the 1000 mile UK record holder.

People compete at diffrent levels a chump in one club is the man to beat in another I think you guys need to look at who you are racing against, it has been my experience that the ones who start a battle are little able to finish it, I think a guy who is winning with 5 birds is not the guy you want to try to flock fly against he is consistently winning 50% of his birds sent against your birds shipping 50 every week is not the answer!!! if you are trying to weed out or train birds in a race  and some other is only flying at a club level and consistently beating you I wouldnt encourage that guy to ship a bunch to a race as I dont think the outcome is going to differ much you either win or you lose and the guy who is beating you today is going to beat you tomorrow unless you change your handle!!!

losers lose, winners modify ( and I dont mean rules or boundries )

Ben, by hard work I mean, attending to the birds at 6oclock in the morning and 6oclock in the evening every day 365 days a year feeding, cleaning etc trying to keep the birds healthy, along with trying to have a life outside of pigeons and being at work. I live in the North East and fly in the UNC where club and fed racing is still at the heart of racing along with the usual Combine races, where birdage is upto 25000 birds and more in some races. My aim is obviously to compete at combine level and it would be a dream to top the UNC, but I also think club and fed wins are still a good thing, especially fed, where birdage is approx. 2-3000 birds weekly. Im happy if the birds score well in a race not just for the glory of it, but it is satisfying to know that they are healthy and thats all I really want, Healthy Happy birds.

Yes indeed I can see what is happening in the UK, just the same thing that is happening in the US. Jealous flyers picking on winners instead of putting more effort in with the Pigeons and trying to beat the winners.

I'm as sorry to see the move to the Specialists clubs as I am to see the longer distance races here become a thing of the past.  What really distresses me is your attitude to each and every flyer on this list that doesn't fly National or the other specialist clubs.  When I was in the UK there was no way I would have ever flown with the National, I found it and elitist and sexist organisation, how many women do you see as members of "The Social Circles", but that's just my opinion.

You seem to decry people for working hard with their birds, but you seem to have it taped down to a fine art by sitting in your chair, what family of birds to you fly, they must be something pretty special, to train feed and clean themselves, pray tell me than I can import some.

I will give you one thing though, you are quite right that the dutch and the Belgies are sending out nothing but crap in many instances, been to a couple of auctions over here and I wouldn't have used the bird on sale for pumpers. The next time you are at your computer look up the Web Sites of some of the top American Fanciers who have for years now been visiting Europe and buying the best from the lofts over there.

As for me I have one of the best teams of Staf Van Reets in the Country, all bred down from Dean Pallets birds and my best producing Middle distance hen came from The Mighty Up North Combine, and before you slag off the Van Reets ours have won from 100 up to 502 miles, only this year a bird bred out of our Reets won the State of Georgia in the South East Open race by an hour fling 502 miles.

sorry Ben, but you seem to be one of the Old Fogies mentioned in another thread on the forum who are putting our great sport into a rapidly spiriling decline

heathcote there is only 18 races up here yes some of the members did win races 3 members won 4 races each so that is 12 races but they have asked one of the members to go with them as he has just had a heart attack we won most the averages over the last 4 years and but the members that are trying to split the club all can see my birds coming and i know that the 3 members that have started this have only won 4 races betwen them in the last 5 years
