great news, racing against the uk,bring it on!!!

guess it all goes back to that old chestnut   join the shu and fly in the snfc, join the rpra and fly in whatever races they will let scottish based rpra members in.

i am not posting this to cause bother ,just stating a fact .i know the trouble ets caused in scotland, hence the split, lets hope the rest of the country has an easier time deciding yes or no.i honestly hope the scots competing in rpra races do well and keep the flag flying

Noticed NFC 1st Channel race is May; bit early for Scotland I would have thought given that the Fed race programmes don't start till late April.

This section has been set up without asking the NFC membership which is not fair . The sections as a whole need to be changed a posting on the nfc site makes alot of sense and its rare for me to agree with Mr Parker but to adjust the sections to 500mls to 600mls at the present Pau distances then 600 to 700 and then 700 to 800 mls Plus and have the normal sectioning east to west . To add a new section without consultation is in my view wrong and undemocratic.

LOOKS LIKE A GOOD IDEA IF THE SCOTTISH LADS WIN IT GOOD ON THEM THEY FLY GOOD BIRDS SOMETIMES WITHOUT MUTCH CREDIT GIVEN...............PS DOES THIS ALSO MEAN YOU ARE INCLUDED IN THE INTERNATIONAL RACES TOO ..............

JUST READING ALL THE "ANDY GRAYS AND ALAN HANSENS" POSTS WHO NOWADAYS SEEM TO BE MORE ENGLISH THAN SCOTTISH. NEXT YOU GUYS WILL BE SUPPORTING ENGLAND WHEN THEY PLAY SCOTLAND AT FOOTBALL, RUGBY ETC. NOTHING AGAINST YOU SOLWAY GUYS SOME TOP FLYERS DOWN THERE BUT HOW LONG WOULD YOU LAST FLYING AGAINST ONLY THE ENGLISH WEEK IN WEEK OUT. BE GREAT IF YOU WERE ALL 100% FOR SCOTLAND JUST LIKE YOUR FORE-FATHERS WERE.....GOOD LUCK!!

I'm sure the scottish birds wil do us north of the border proud, great idea for fanciers up here wanting to test their birds against those further down the country

CELTIC,

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR POSTING, BUT LETS BE SERIOUS THESE GUYS ARE GETTING THIS SECTION BECAUSE THE ENGLISH KNOW THE SCOTS ARE GOING TO WIN ABSOLUTELY F*** ALL AGAINST THEM, BEING IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION THEYRE IN. WHY DO THE CUMBRIA COMBINE AND THE UNC HAVE THEIR OWN ORGANISATIONS? ITS NO ROCKET SCIENCE.

                               GOOD LUCK...

Nothings impossible andy and I be the first to congratulate anyone that won it if it was in Scotland think any true distance fancier though will read more into a result than who won it overall you need to look at the sections and there winners as well takes a lot to get a good bird if you not in the right section on the day shouldnt take nothing away from the bird though and what it has acheived

ROSE,

IM NOT DISAGREEING WITH YOU BUT YOUR NOT READING MY POST. THE SCOTS ARE NOT A THREAT TO THE ENGLISH NATIONAL SO ITS NO PROBLEM TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO FLY WITH THEM, AND FUND THEIR ASSOCIATION. LOOK AT THE CHANNEL ISLANDS, THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED IN THE ENGLISH NATIONAL (NFC), WHY COS THEY'RE IN A POSITION TO WIN. IVE HAD MY SAY AND ENJOYED THE DEBATE, WILL SAY NO MORE ON THE SUBJECT ONCE AGAIN GOOD LUCK ALL...

When you race with the NFC. realistically you are racing to win your section, and any good open position is a bonus. But that does not say it can't be done, most further flying members in the NFC are true distance men, and they can see a good performance, enen if the bird doea not win. At the end of the day there can only be one winner out of thousands entered, and many may not consider it to be the best preformanc. If thats the kind of racing you want, you pays your money and takes your chance.

Im nearly 200 mile from south coast, but I love distance racing, so you just have to get on with it. I am also a member of the BBC 150 miles plus short of the front drop, but who cares.

All the best    looking forward to a good seasons racing.

Now then Andy, what's this about some of us supporting the English at footie, nae chance  :o;)

We have been members of the NFC long before the civil war which has blighted our sport in Scotland kicked off....... it is my ambition and dream to time birds in from 800 miles. The NFC offers to me that opportunity

It is all about enjoyment of our sport, politics and nationalities having nothing to do with it whatsoever, this is often overlooked by many

At the moment there doesn't appear to be enough pigeons to support two National clubs in Scotland. We all know where the birds came from to support the new club and the affect that had on the original club.

I wonder where the birds will come from to support a third National club in Scotland and what will be the effect on the existing clubs?

IM SORRY BUT I AGREE WITH THE LAST 2 POSTINGS ....WHY CANT YOU WIN THE NFC  ON THE RIGHT DAY...SOUNDS DEFEATIST TO ME ....WHAT HAPPENED TO KICKIN ENGLISH ARSES.....AS A KID ALL THE BEST DISTANCE BIRDS CAME FROM SCOTLAND I SEE NO DIFFERENCE NOW...DO YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Rose,  you are exactly right, it's not about winning, its about competeing and putting up a good performance against the odds. You are either up for distance racing or not. I am a member of the BBC, Palamos to me 825 miles I don't ever expect to win, but I shall compete for the thrill of getting a bird at that distance, which I did the first time I sent, and I suspect there were a lot flying much less that didn't.

With regard to your comment re the channel isles, its not down to the NFC committee, there is a rule which says all members should fly a minimum distance of 480 miles from Pau. First you need a propersition on the ballot paper to reduce this distance, it has been on before, but the members voted against it, simple as that.

All the best Mick
