There seems to be an alarming number of clubs here in Scotland who have for some reason been given Federation status, the West of Scotland has been talked about on here already and as we all know it was only created to give the president a back door entrance to keeping his delegates position, but now a "championship club" from the east of scotland has been given a delegate and also a club in Ayrshire has been allowed to have a delegate, Anybody know why the power brookers need so many extra delegates all of a sudden..................

Yes i agree sad and and very embaressing but surely the fact the membership sit back and allow it happen is more worrying, think about it a delegate from west of scotland club having a vote to represent 11 lofts or the new ayrshire delegate voting on behalf of 6 lofts powerful positions to have but why, something does not add up here but i wonder why.

THIS WHOLE THING WITH THE SHU PRESIDENT STINKS!!! IF HIS OWN FED DID'NT WANT HIM WHY NOT JUST WALK AWAY??? THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE DIGNIFIED THING TO DO NOT TRY AND GET IN THE BACKDOOR IN ANOTHER SO CALLED FEDERATION!!! WHERE ARE HIS PRINCIPLES??? AND WHY DOES HE (OR OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES THAT HE IS REPRESENTING) WANT TO STAY IN POWER SO MUCH????? SOMETHING VERY VERY FISHY GOING ON HERE AND IT REALLY DOES STINK!!!!!!!

the delagates from all the proper feds should get together and tell the joke fed delagates where to go and elect a new President into the bargain and try and bring about a bit self respect and dignity back to the SHU.

to be a federation u must have 4 or more clubs. and to be a club u must have not less than 5 members with seperate lofts, so for a club to change into a federation it would need to have at leased 20 members and they would then have to form into 4 clubs, ?????????

fifer I have read the rules and constitution of the SHU and I can not find anywhere that states you need 20 members to form a federation, it does say you require a minimum of 5 members to form a society or club and it also states you require a minimum of 4 societies or clubs to form a federation nowhere does it state that you require 20 members to form a federation, would suggest you check part 2 of the SHU constitution, cheers.

EVEN IF THEY MANAGED TO MASSAGE THE FACTS AND AND FIGURES TO SUIT THEIR PERVERTED CAUSE IT IS STILL DECEITFUL AND DUPLICITUS.

WHAT A LAUGHING STOCK THE SHU WOULD BECOME IF THE PRESIDENT OF OF THE ORGANISATION WAS MANOUVERED INTO POSIYION IN SUCH AWAY.

Bit confused on the main theme of this thread:  :-/

(1) How does a Club get Federation status, which I take to mean that it has an SHU delegate? What is the criteria?

(2) Wondered where the West of Scotland club in this thread was? Only West of Scotland I can find is a Fed, 4 clubs, around Dumbarton.

My interpretation is 5 members with lofts flying not p/ships flying make a club or assc ...then 4 of those needed minimum to have a Fed

to try and help out here bruno, I think the main theme of this thread was to discredit the members of the SHU council and in particular the president john barlow. ( by the way none of them could hold a candle to the man.)

(1) to take the east of scotland fed for example they lost a club through natural circumstances and to keep their fed status one club split to form two clubs, no new delegates they still have the same one.

(2)west of scotland has been a federation since glasgow fed went to the RPRA and left them high and dry, if greengrass is to be beleived then john barlow must have predicted that lanarkshire fed along with most of the other feds in both scotland and england were going to have a bad race that particular weekend and that he would get the blame, so he set up this fed to keep him on the council, perhaps john barlow is clarevoyant or perhaps greengrass is talking the usual crap, you make up your own mind!!!

cheers.

i never said u need 20 members to form a federation i said (YOU NEED 4 OR MORE CLUBS TO FORM A FEDERATION) AND U NEED 5 MEMBERS WITH LOFTS TO FORM A CLUB)  so for a club to change into a fed it would need 20 members so it could form 4 clubs, with 5 members in each, OK.

spot on dandydoo. so for a club to change into a fed it would need to have at leased 20 members to form 4 clubs, explain that to t3doo why it would need 20 members,

I saw the lets-bash-the-SHU thing, but chose to ignore that ... there is nothing new or confusing in havin-a-go, par for the course in Scotland, a favourite pastime ... for others.

Thanks for clearing the West of Scotland up for me. I did pick up on the plight of the old Dumbarton club way back when it decided it wasn't going down Glasgow Fed's way, and was convoyed by Renfrew Fed for a time I think.

Used to live in Helensburgh, so remember fine the many lofts in the allotment in the ''V" of the Helensburgh & Balloch railway lines, and the big loft at a private house on Dumbarton side of Cardross on the main Dumbarton - Helensburgh road.

Didn't realise the old club had split into 4 new clubs, but then being at the North West limit of pigeondom, north of the Clyde, which Fed was it supposed to affiliate to? I'd call that a good survival strategy, at least the folk can still fly their birds in the Clubs & Union of their choice.

firstly to clear up the numbers game the west of scotland has 11 lofts and there fore cannot be a federation going by the "rule book". partnerships and non flying members do not count. t3doo you have come on here before and made an a**e of yourself trying to justify the actions of mr barlow and his dwindling band of followers and yet again ypour posts have no substance to give them any worthly credit.

secondly bruno people in glass houses should not throw stones. remember mark from barbylofts, short and repressive memory. :o :o

i also see you have no comments on the massive ayshire club/fed which has also been given a delegate, i wonder why.

bruno remove this if you like. i am used to it. i fail to see the consistency in your posistion when as a moderator, what a most innappropriate choice of word, you clearly take an aggressive pro shu stance in any debate concerning the same organisation. you appear to be incapable of thinking like a reasonable inmdividual. you habitually come across as a self appointed and opinionated know all. you post web addresses pointing to articles and discussion papers on many subjects. while you may well have located and read some of these same articles your content in your postings give the impression that you have severe difficulty in understanding the content. you regurgitate other peoles work and attemt to lay claim to the implioed understanding that you somehow feel this gives you. in this current discussion you are clearly waitng in the wings to savage the comments that you can not handel. this is not moderation this is poor judgement and shows a complete lack of skill and maturity. i hope you understand that this is only a personal reading of the current situation and accept that this is only fair criticism and not intended to offend. the shu like your self have repeatedly and maliciously refused to operate within their own rules and constitution. the fact that more and more people are becoming aware of this is not the posters to this forums fault. a poor example will eventually lead to a poor response. any organisation experiencing problems should invest in small mirrors for the management committee. this is usually the quickest way of identifying where the problem originated. the mirror is excellent in that it will also identify where the solution to the problem should be located.

in reply to jimmy whites post their is much more to the scottish members who left the shu than ets. this continued attempt at whitewashing the reasoning behind South lanrkshire, glasgow, forth and clyde, east of scotland etc etc leaving is an extremely poor show. we continue to hear the i only want to flee ma doos cry.what a load of rubbish. the ongoing situation within the shu chased more members away than the ets. poor poor show jimmy white you should know better.
