sparko Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 My son and i built this our first loft and want some help on the trap please ,it is on top of the aviary and we was considering using bob trap ,the ets has got to be inside the loft which is where i could run into problems as other people say if they use bob traps the birds jump over the ets board so they all use sputniks ,any ideas would be very much appreciated .
OLDYELLOW Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 looks fine to me bobs on trap and a shelf for ets on inside keep it simple
sparko Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 would it be best to put 3 wooden partitions in the entrance before they go through the bobs ,like two wires in each section to help them walk over the ets instead of them just flying or jumping over the ets board ?
paddymac Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 If the bobs are in place as Mark said the birds will walk through the bobs onto the shelf thats housing the ETS pad
andy Burgess Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 would it be best to put 3 wooden partitions in the entrance before they go through the bobs ,like two wires in each section to help them walk over the ets instead of them just flying or jumping over the ets board ? hard to describe perhaps ? i would look at a drop down pad , levelled a few inches below the entrance and bottom of the "bob wire" .so basically the bird pushes through the "bob" and jumps down onto the pad .with the weight and action of the wires sitting on there shoulders as they do so . hope that makes sense ?

sparko Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 Nice tidy work done on the inside also sparko, have you any air vents on the back of the loft same as on the front ??Hi Paddymacyes ive got a 2 inch gap runnning the whole length next to the roof ,im also going to put some bigger louvers on the front and a couple on the side at the bottom and it should be good every seam has been siliconed and no water gets in when i shut it up thanks for the kind comments guys. oh this is my young bird loft using a sliding door 2 section inside pipo boxes one section and v perches other.my breeding loft is going on the back of this one with an aviary, then seperate loft for my old birds when im ready i have noticed the wind does come in the vent at the back and ive been scratching my head how to make it still go out the back so its always sucking air in the front regardless of wind direction or doesnt it matter when the winds blowing directly on it easterly wind at the back and more times than not its that direction
