Well you would have thought it would have been the top table members of the SHU COUNCIL, namely

messrs Barlow, Noble,Gibson amd Seretary Brooks, but I have heard on the grapevine as usual mr Barlow has his own agenda for this as he had decided to ask along another council member mr Ronnie Crealie from the Pentland Fed without consulting anybody, there has to be a question asked as to why this council member and only this one was asked to attend the meeting this fed has never had a suspended member, I know some council members who were not aware of this taking place with mr Crealie in attendance, .  There are council members who have had  about 25 years experince working with the council and were not even consulted about it and other council members never even heard about it.

DEJA VOUS   MR J BARLOW

it would appear that you have a problem with john barlows choice of delegates, may i suggest you write to the shu expressing your concerns with regard to this matter, furthermore it might be more important to check the information you are receiving prior to posting as you will find that three other councillors attended the meeting excluding the vice presidents, remember to sign and date your letter or it will not be dealt with, that is provided you are even a member of the shu which would not surprise me if indeed you were not as it would appear the non members of the shu are more concerned about shu business than the real members.

just as a matter of interest who would you suggest should have been invited to attend this meeting?????

by the way i am an shu member and proud of it.

the only thing i would say is, i thought the rpra was the governing body so why if there is a problem with cumbria is cumbria dealing with it themself, its like me being taken to court and judging my own case, surely this is something between the shu and the rpra, who is suposed to be the governing body,

Did you never think Fifer that the problem might be the guys running the Shu not the lads from Cumbria. That being the case and using your own logic presumably the Shu should not be able to take part in the discussions either!

as a passionate scot and  a member of the shu i've got to say sammy lad i am a little bit perturbed by the "emotions"  behind your post.

At the end of the day we are all just lads who should be wanting to race our doos not be continually watching our backs to see if someone had managed to get us banned from racing our doos.

Incidentally the term "Sassenach" is a scots highland Gaelic term (not "gaylic") for southern lowland scots. Strange Sammy but true trust "me".

Well, 59 posts and nothing concrete yet posted on the meeting.  :-/

Guess we'll need to wait on SHU's PO publishing it in BHW. See we got that this week for the March Council meeting, a step forward I think :)

And should we believe him Bruno?

My point is, Frank, as I've expressed the same opinion before: threads of this nature are as much use as a handbrake on a canoe. Short on reliable information, long on unreliable gossip, adverserial in tone and end up, always, in a slagging match.

Tend to agree with you Bruno but the basics here is some people want to be sitting around a guillotine smoking a pipe and some are trying to avoid standing on the scaffold with their hands tied behind their backs. Sad but true and that in a nutshell is Scottish Pigeon Racing in 2007 pathetic or what?

Let guys race their doos we are dwindling fast trust "me" is money and revenge really all that so important?

concrete posting. number at meeting 17 true. 9 shu 8 rpra true. changes due to meeting none. we do not need a report in the bhw to let us know this. questions arising from the meeting. have the shu improved their position re their problems? answer. no. alleged quote from shu president in the car park after the meeting. "we came out of that a lot worse than we went in" future arrangements. none. future plans to meet again. none. is this concrete enough?

I agree with some of your points bruno but is this not what the form is about members airing there views but when it gets a bit hairy SOMEONE pulls the plug we are all growan men so stop pulling the plug we used to have a thing in the army cauled a shimph session great for clearing the air and people told you straight to your face what they were thinking didnt see any one crying then and the truth allways came out and as ive said before it sometime hurts the truth (for sum) but they need to get over it and move on.

glad to hear that you are an shu member alf, however do you not think that taking the whole council instead of a small party of relevant councillors to a rather pointless meeting where the cumbria region delegation thought it was a one way street and they were not there to reach any resolutions, they suggested that we change our rules to deal with suspensions, in fact they would prefer that there was only one organisation for the whole of the uk.and we are not just talking about scotland here we are talking about nehu, nwhu, ihu, whu in fact mr blacklock stated that he personally had no time for the confederation.

you and others on this forum can think what you like  but i can assure you the delegation that john barlow took to gretna conducted themselfs correctly and in the interests of the shu and the members, furthermore this was only a discussion and any decisions would have to be made by the whole council so i dont know why every one is getting their knickers in such a twist.

which scott gibson are you referring to frank is it the one in the shu or is it the one in the rpra or is it the one that is in all the camps, the man i know has far too many hats for my liking and he probably has a face to go with each of them, his good friend andy miller said earlier he played the joker for a fortnight was it the joker of spades by any chance as you say frank a spade is a spade with scott, as for yourself frank you made your choice to leave the shu and i dont see anyone trying to force you to come back so why dont you make the most of what you have and leave us the members to worry about the shu.

perhaps its about time the shu brought out a rule that you can only be a member of one organisation to be a member of the shu, beleive it or not there would be a large portion of the shu council would have to make a serious choice. BELEIVE ME THIS IS A FACT, personally i think this would be an excellent idea espescially since cumbria region of the rpra have made it plain that they do not recognise the shu, therefore there is nothing to be gained by the shu recognising them ( food for thought eh! )

the rather pointless meeting that you refer to 48rtc was requested by the shu. the rpra have never approached the shu for a meeting. the outcome of the meeting would not appear to have been the required result for the shu so we now witness the usual reaction when this happens. as far as limiting the rights or choices of their membership the shu would appear to have restricted their own choices by their ill prepared and ill conceived policies in the past. if they take your suggested action i think they will only achieve the same result. at no point did the cumbria delegation suggest that the shu should change their rules to deal with suspensions. it was however asked if the present rules had been applied in a consistent and uniform manner at all times. it was pointed out also that during the frenzy of suspensions a certain individual whose name was brought up by the shu delegation had to have a suspension lifted two weeks after it had been impossed due to the lack of following correct procedure. as to recognition i am unaware of any statement made by the cumbria region representatives which indicated that cumbria did not recognise the shu. it was clearly pointed out that the rules of the rpra would be the only rules used when conducting rpra business. it was also clearly stated that the rpra had no right to dabble in shu business. indeed nor did they wish too.

From what ive been told you have got it right johno let the various unions run there own things but when an other union does not agree with some thing the other said/done that doesnt mean they dont reconise them it means they dont agree thats all as for the one union thing thats the kind of thing the shu is now famous for its my ball and if you dont like it you cant play and they might do well to remember the rosyth situation there might be lots more that are hovering on the edge that would push them over the edge (but i think by the tone of certain officals of the shu they allready know that) and more members lost from the shu . is it not the job of good officals of unions to try and resolve situations rather than enflame them because of personal vendetas and your right iam out of it and very glad but it seams a shame to see a great organisation like the shu bieng destroyed by people like that
