Why is it that somebody using the ETS has a definite advantage,  over someone using the normal pre ets clocks., Yet no penalties whatever so, considered?  i.e. I have two birds arrive together. but cannot put two rubbers into one thimble. to record similar times. Yet ETS  operaters can have 3 or 4 or maybe more, tiptoeing accross the pad, to make the whole scene an utter farce.Where does discrimination begin?

It's a bit tough isn't "Old Fella"  ;) ;) ;) do what we do etc  ;D ;D ;D One bird clocking every race etc, till we get to the distance & then we are allowed the pleasure of clocking 2 birds. It will even it up somewhat I imagine "LMFAO" but then again ???????? it could upset quite a few people also  ;) ;) ;).

Enjoy.

Do you not think it is just moving with the times, near enough every sport now has some sort of electronic timing systems. Boxing, horse racing, athletics etc

The problem which seperates pigeon racing from the rest is it's vast diversity in how to get a true time that everyone can guage the true winner.

We can all see the horses passing the same winners post but photo finish is so essential in tight racers, the same as athletics, no way we can do that with pigeons unless it is a one loft race :-/

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU VIC THEY HAVE GOT THE SANCTION NOW OF BIGGER PADS AND COULD HAVE AS MANY AS THEY WANT WITH EXTENSIONS , THERE TAKING THE p*ss NOW WITH ALL THESE GADGETS BUT THEY SEEM TO WANT MORE AND MORE THE TOP OF THE TREE MUST BE GETTING BACKHANDERS FROM SOME OR ALL OF THE ETS MAKERS .

The game is becoming sadder as each year elapses. Until some of our easterley aces ADMIT THAT POSITION IS EVERYTHING in this game, it will get worse. Some of the eastern  times were disgraceful this week, to say the least. Beaten handsomely by a bird into Seaforth, (not far from New Brighton)  It's a laugh , don't you think?

the reason no one has responded is its getting boring now listening to all the anti ets brigade going over the same old things. ive got ets and its the best thing ive done to make my hobby much more enjoyable. so have a further 50 % of my club thats 16 members and everthings going well . so come on just get on with your racing.

i might just do that fifer , i can,t see why like vic said they can,t allow 2 rubbers as you guys seem to get to time on the sametime right down to the last second ,and also the e.t.s. members must have thebiggest clout now to turn the rpra inside out

there has always been advantage harry, what about stall traps they are just about as fast timing as ets, maybe ets will clock a few birds quicker but birds in a stall trap will have advantage over having to catch and take the rubber off, but no one has ever complained about that, but ets doesnt make you win races harry I havent won a race since i got one  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Im not anti ets far from it but i dont see why if you have 2 separate lofts with ets you can be timing in at the same time with pads and if you are in the same position using clocks and there are more than 1 person there to time in the birds you are only allowed 1 clock if you get birds come together at the same time to the different lofts you cant have your clock in 2 places at the same time

rose my view is this.

i know what you have wrote is correct and seems unfair but lets list some of the other aspects of pigeon racing which are not fair.

the working man versus the unemployed or retired .  <time wise>

the rich versus the poor < obviously money wise >

the old versus the young < more active and quicker on the feet > sometimes

the west man  versus the  east  man.

the small back garden  versus  the acre plot .

the proffesional pigeon  man versus the hobby  man.

the point is  no person ever is going to make this sport equal.  so ets will not stop someone racing pigeons if they dont have 1  , but it will help others stay in the sport if it gives them more time and flexability.

i understand perfectly what you are saying ,but you are wrong there a bird will be clocked faster on the ets system quicker fifer , and as rose says now that you can have as many pads as you like , on all lofts it makes a mockery of the whole excercise of getting clocks set to compete at these races or any race in fact , as you will always have an advantage

we know also that you have got to get the birds to win .

harry you and a lot of others have an advantage over me and i dont moan about it. :( :(

Im afraid i think the rpra with their rules are giving anyone with ets a distinct advantage over anyone with clocks

Just another preasure to make most buy the E.T. ... or pack up.

ETS will not make poor birds fly faster or change anybody's loft position!

Vics words are that of a bad loser, just accept you position and enjoy your racing cos there ain't nothing you can do about it!

Posted

The first thing with ETS is the cost especially with all the add-ons. Secondly with the allowance of the extra pads you could effectively have half a dozen pads(clocks) timing in from the one race.
