Guest Vic Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Iv'e just been looking at some of my pigeons that went to France last weekend, and although some had seven, inland races, before the French venture. They are screaming to be sent back. This has always been an ace up the sleeve, for experienced channel men, who can spot form arriving. But Alas! they are now in quarantine. What a Fuxxxxg shambles . SAD.
retired Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Its a big shame, Hope they finally get their act together for you in time for next season, as cant imagine they will for this one.
carlsberg Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 well at least we can still race from the channel ,
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Its a big shame, Hope they finally get their act together for you in time for next season, as cant imagine they will for this one. ouch !!
pjc Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Can't see DEFRA lifting it full stop! Has vaccination stopped? No, but we still have the same number of outbreaks each year but they won't lift it as I don't beleive they will lift the restrictions! You will have to split your teams so you can race them alternate channel races. PHil
Guest Vic Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 ouch !! Red Cheek hen! You read that one wrong. Read again. Defra is what the guy is on about. An eye on YOU in future. LOL

PHilI have split my team for the last couple of years, through these E.C. despots, Don't try to learn, your grandad how to suck, I lost top and bottom a few years back.LOL.
retired Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 I respect what you are saying Phil and you are most likely right. its just a shame for these flyers who are dedicated to racing the channel, that such as in the case of Vic he knows from experience his birds are ready for the water this week yet he and many others in the same boat cant send due to regulations by a government agency whos knowledge of pigeons is nothing more than seeing ferals in the streets of Westminster on the way to there silver service dinner. Rant over ;D

REDCHEQHEN Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Red Cheek hen! You read that one wrong. Read again. Defra is what the guy is on about. An eye on YOU in future. LOL I did Vic - I thought he was referring to your pigeons (evil)
Guest Vic Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Most certainly are. The pinnacle of pigeon flying in my estimation. Iv'e had some good and some bad experiences over the years. I won five out of the six not long back racing against some of the best Knowsley flyers, and was second in the other. Ask Kirmo if you think that I am romancing. Only second this week, but good honest returns. Didnt select the right one for the Liverpool Continetal! But fancy them in a fortnights time. Bad times? I remember one year when there were no birds into Liverpool , and I had one reported DEAD at 2100 hrs. from somebody walking their dog on a disused railway line near Wrexham, AND was this pigeon a pigeon, won on many occasions. But we must all take the rough of this game with the smooth, because if you can't, Don't get involved. Good Luck to All. Vic.

ribble Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Yes it is some channel programme that one, not for the faint hearted ones. It's a shame it doesn't get the publicity it deserves i can't remember the last time i saw even a result in the Mag's. I'd enjoy studying them six results on a winter evening, if anyone can supply them after racing i would be grateful.
mark Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 i suppose thats the one good thing for north road flyers they dont get that problem.

Novice Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 It's a very sad situation with no solution at the moment. You have my sympathy
Guest chrisss Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 i suppose thats the one good thing for north road flyers they dont get that problem. thats the reason why my club went north for,if channel racing gets stopped, the coast is only 150 miles for us
Guest Vic Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 thats the reason why my club went north for,if channel racing gets stopped, the coast is only 150 miles for us What I am looking for IS LIFTING OF RESTRICTIONS. SAY NO MORE!
Guest chrisss Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 What I am looking for IS LIFTING OF RESTRICTIONS. SAY NO MORE! i think we all are chum, who wouldn't go over the water given half the chance?
