would love to here of a Scottish selected 12 that would be given money and resources to keep the pigeon sport alive, the 12 specially selected but anonymous, would be under oath and orders, to promote the sport any way they see fit, there are over 3,000 pigeon men in Scotland selling a raffle book each to the value of just £10 gives the specials £30,000 of a fund in the first year, i am sure there would be rewards for all.emoticon-0123-party.gif in Scotland. but could be extended.

[ this would only work if a letter was issued to the members and they ticked the box they would like to take part, then there would be a interview of all and whats there way of thinking would be, by that time the raffles would be sent out, to each member and funds collected, and then names picked and every thing put into place, but once the selections where made they would remain anonymous for life, that way there is only 12 and it would up to them how they make there packt and what consequences they place on there team of 12 in doing so at £2,500 per man would help there race organizing.

this is open to any one, that wants to send out the letters, and take it from here then issue the raffle tickets then pick his 12 he can trust. but remember if word get out broken limbs may follow for having a slack lip this is how i see it so the 12 would be

able to handle them self and have no second thoughts on the offenders state of mind at the time

Personally I would like to see someome cater for the sprint guys

vote for in club house race program voting would be a start there should only be 2 types of races sprint and middle distance, and with the odd double race on the day of sprint and middle distance. when the transporter is available or with another fed.

your part of the world has difficulty at dumbar some a 6 furlong ordinary race and have known to take 2 hours or more coming out of it our problem could be at our home end, and if you are not here with the solution why be part of the problem.

I thought all the Inland races were there to cater for the sprint man.

and the nationals where to cater for the distance minded...but recently more focus has been on the national sprint/middle distance which is ruining what once was a great distance racing country.

Simple really a specialist club within feds etc the Sprint lads go to the inland races alongside the other birds up to whatever distance specified and the members of the club nom their birds the rest of the season the longer races they have a choice they send or they don't

The distance lads don't like the shorter races but see a need and a preference for others

If they want extra racing a 60_100 mile race can be sorted using a small trailer big enough to accommodate the birds comfortably and go the day of the race

If I've picked it up wrong just ignore me lol

no the sprint fancier, wants what he pays for in terms of fees if you pay the piper the most money, you should be able to get the most tunes.

you could have a specilaist club here but all the feds in same area are all at diffo places each week and mostly go alone east west middle one at 190 one at 90mls etc one at coast one at 90 mile comeback etc

There is this misconception that here in Lanarkshire we all fancy the distance... if that was the case there would be a lot more at the so called IMPORTANT races but the birdage is dreadful some races

I like all races and will always send anyway bt not everyone wants too..

I think everyone initially wants to fly the distance George, that's the ultimate for everyone when they start up.Then they discover its so fekin hard after a few years they opt for the easier races.Im not knocking that because I can understand this mentality nowadays.Distance racing is soul destroying lol.

Surely beating 7000 pigeons in a short race is harder to do than beat a handful?? Easier for the pigeon to fly shorter yes bt harder to win imo

100% wrong m8.The Macs have had pigeons to win against 7000b several times but name a pigeon in Scotland to win the section from 500 miles 3 or 4 times.

The macs are jst about the only ppl able to do it....

Distance racing imo is more pigeon than fancier

Sprint racing more fancier than pigeon

This is only my opinion Del

Only a handful of doos make the channel 3 or 4 times never mind win it...

Why is it the same guys score from the distance every year Geo.You must know how to use the tools m8.Sprint pigeons are ten a penny and very easy to get a hold of.Im not taking anything away from them but believe me, until you experience getting one across the pond ye haven't raced doos , omho. ps.I used to have a couple of sprint doos and won out of turn with them.

I'll continue going to the nationals across the pond... but I do think it's a lottery quite a lot of the time.... same guys at the top because its the same guys that send without fail.... for every winner there is about 20 top top distance men without a timer
