Guest emily Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Hiya I've found a stray Pigeon on Tuesday. I found out yesterday who he's registered to but only get an answering service when I call the original owner. Because he lives so far away from me I was told that he's probably passed the bird onto someone else but the new owners details haven't been updated. I've posted him a letter today with me phone number so hopfully will hear from him tomorrow or Saturday. It's a show Pigeon and seems really healthy. He's been kept in a glass vivarium which is about 2 foot long with a mesh roof and I also keep the window open so he's not going to be to hot in there. I'm feeding him on pigeon seed that I bought from a local pet shop and he's drinking fine. I'm sure he was only exhausted when I found him. He seems really bright in himself and is eating and drinking well. Just wondering how long I can keep him contained in their for. I can't allow him out to fly around the house or anything. I also haven't given him a bath. Should I place him in the shower with a washing up bowl full of water or will he be okay without one? If I can't find out who owns him can any body on here maybe take him on or recommend someone for me. I actually don't know the sex but it could be a female.

Guest emily Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Thanks for the replys. The registered owner a Mr Bateman of Bristol. I'm in Pendle, Lancashire. Oh forgot to add, I got his details from a lady who works for the club that his ring number was registered too.
Leroy Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Hi Emily, I'm in Burnley. If you need me to collect the bird let me know. I'll do what I can to get it home or keep it safe. 07725433572 Lee
Guest emily Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 That's brilliant, I'm in Nelson. I've sent a letter to someone else from Bacup who the lady from the pigeon club thinks could be a possbile owner of the bird but it's just a guess. Unfortuantly the contact phone number doesn't work but hopfully he'll respon to my letter. If it does turn out be his bird and he can't come and collect it himself do ou think you could take it too him? I'm not sure where Bacup is but my mum thinks there's a road to it straight from Burnley so I'm hoping it isn't putting you out. I'll phone you tomorrow if I hear it's his pigeon. Many thanks for your help. Really do hope this little fella can be reunited with his owner.
