Fife_pigeon_wife Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Rosyth clubs delegates always go to meetings. its the only way to find out things straight from the horses mouth and not relying on chinese whispers. as EVERY club has someone who will add arms , legs and a few feathers to the story.

OLDYELLOW Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 couldnt tell you who goes to our fed meetings , there usualy decided before you turn up to vote , and in past it was the many Hull clubs with fewer members that got most of the say to the detriment of the clubs in the north , thats why a New Fed was made , because they were ruining our fed when they all ready had both north road feds and south road feds now thats just greedy and selfish
THE FIFER Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Delegates are messangers and should be mandated by their members what to do as per agenda, how many organisations do this,???
mac Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 FIFER your comments interest me you were aq delegate were you not also president but what you advise others you did not do when you were in that position WHY WHY ?????

jimmy white Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 FIFER your comments interest me you were aq delegate were you not also president but what you advise others you did not do when you were in that position WHY WHY ????? i find this a kind of personal attack on the fifer and a wee bit below the belt my question would be,,would you have did these jobs
jimmy white Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Will put it straight - In our club no one really gives a monkeys about the Region - i cant be any clearer This season i took on the Region delegate job 1- Because no one wanted it and the people who had previously had it never went 2 - I will attend all meetings but Fifer i cant get a mandate from uninterested members so will go and use my own judgement rightly or wrongly with due respect [valance lofts] i find this is exactly whats happening in most clubs, feds, etc, and can fully understand your point 2 ,, but afraid i must disagree , as again,, with respect ,, there are delegates like this all over ,taking their own opinions to unions , feds etc [which in certain cases, are not in fact the club,s wishes and opinions, but their own ?? as stated many times by the fifer "delegates are messengers" to convoy the"relevant message , agreed by club or fed " of the body ,their delegates of ",,,,be it club,,fed or union . if a club or fed does not hold a meeting discussing any agenda,,,, or if the club does ,,and no one votes , the club delegates cannot report and vote concerning any" messages" to any higher body ,,,, as, quite simply,,,,,,,,,,,,theres none
THE FIFER Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 FIFER your comments interest me you were aq delegate were you not also president but what you advise others you did not do when you were in that position WHY WHY ????? I did try but the members would have none of it, they did'nt want meetings to instruct delegates, why because the old method had went on for years before I took over and I did call a meeting once and only 3 turned up so meeting cancelled, also it starts at club level Its them that instruct their FED delegates what to do at Fed meetings, and this has never been done in the Fed for years and years if ever at all, and the Fed officials are the SHU delegates another thing that went on for years which is wrong, SHU delegates should be from the body of the hall, from the members, one man cant change what 400 members dont want them to, thats how I could,nt change anything and if my resignation letter had been read out to the members as it should have been, they would have known that this was one of the reasons I resigned,
cemetary Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Fifer, When your letter got read out, werent you there at the time, if so, why didnt you speak up and tell them to read out exactley whats written on the letter, rather than just skipping through it then. ?

I had resigned so was not at the AGM when it should have been read, did,nt even know it had,nt until I was told it was never read out.
Guest shadow Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 used to be a delegate for years and never voted unless mandated by my club
Roland Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 You know, that when delegates go to these metings on our behalf, they seem to invariablely return saying why our proposals failed. Normlly because the Chair, and upper table explain things that makes them lean toward that way of thinking and 'Upper Table' just carry's on. Fact ent tit! But, and so, in reality Clubs should discuss, delegates meet then and discuss, that is hammered out at next club meeting BEFORE the Delegates, and even the Regional meetings are held. This needs to be done before every Fed, RRPRA meetings are held. Further every minutes should have it in writing exactly who voted, or abstained on what! Golly that ole hat of 'It was carried 19 votes for to 14 votes against, should be forgotten and done away with. They record nigh everything else in the minutes, including Excuses etc. Always make you wonder why everyone seems to want change, or are all for a certain aspect / rule etc. and yet still it never gets in! Now you know.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 take a tape recorder to meeting then compare to minutes you will be surprised i did at a meeting on myself the minutes a true record accepted was not even remotely like it so i wrote true record and sent to sec concerned no reply clubs donot instruct deligates to go and listen vote as most only go out of intrest we used to go and spend half night arguing rules when they nver evan new rules theirselfs
Roland Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 take a tape recorder to meeting then compare to minutes you will be surprised i did at a meeting on myself the minutes a true record accepted was not even remotely like it so i wrote true record and sent to sec concerned no reply clubs donot instruct deligates to go and listen vote as most only go out of intrest we used to go and spend half night arguing rules when they nver evan new rules theirselfs For instance, every year at a RPRA regional meet there is normlly the Guy that wanted to change his membership to a Honourary on, or vica versa, Every year it is thrown out and re - instated that all a member needs to do is phone the sec and have it changed immediately. Ibviously if to a Full flying member then he they have to pay the full subs for the year. Every year someone get told you have to resign first and then get voted in ... evry year some are not voted in, and they think they are clever... till forced to re - instate. Yes I know why they WISH to believe that that one has to resign first, but all one is doing is changing the Membership he has for another one, ALREADY been voted in and accepted. There are umpteen of them.
