Bet you never stood for a Federation official ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ian , they never do, I am sure we all come across these people in our clubs, federations and unions, who shout their mouths off constantly, and talk down others who volunteer to take on positions of responsibility. I believe, that we are better without them, but this is my opinion only ;)  Although I do feel that an official to say "I am not a postie" is wrong, but I would certainly have challenged him/her on this, but this would not make me turn my back on my club, federation or union. Stay within and fight for improvement.

Fife fed fees are proposed to be £150 which includes 25 birds, there after 25p a bird. The fed has to survive, and it is up to the members to pay their way irrelevant what numbers you fly. If it were to go on birdage alone the fed would not survive. I have been trying to say this to the membership for 2 years now, but hopefully it will go through this year. If it doesnt, the fed goes under, simple as that.

Alec this was tried before and got voted out, I am all for the Fed making money, but not at the expense of the OAP,s who enjoy the sport but do not send big teams, why should someone who sends 6 birds to a race, pay the same as someone who send 25? not fare in my eyes, put the money on the birdage if need be, then everyone pays for what they send, and we don,t loose any of our older or not so well off members, noticed that the proposal is put forward by 2 members, who both fly BIG teams, and are business men. I was at Methilhaven on Monday night, and not one person present was in favour for the increase, so it,s down to the vote. My concern is the number of people who have said, if it does go through, they will pack in. Hardly the way forward :-/

if this is FEES £150 then you will pay vat on it also what about partnerships  Â£300 ???? last year the fees were £20  and a loft payment of £42 , we made a profit on racing also a very good surplus on the balance sheet, and money in the bank, the way the quoted post puts it it looks like we are in a bad way ??? we are a non profit making outfit,

Ecky, as Brian says, this was tried last time and get voted of, so it will be brought up this year again and i think this will get the same vote, as last time. I would not like to see members packing in etc, due to this getting passed, the federation cant afford to loose any more members, we are sitting at just under the 200 mark,  5 years how many members were in the fed ?????

In my case, why should i have to pay the £150 to race pigeons due to my work pattern i only get a few races, so i am happy to pay for the racing i get.

Does the fed really need the money, NO, looking at the balance sheet they sent out, they have got money, so why the massive increase this year.

The reason it never went forward before is because the president put it to the members in words, not figures. So no-one understood it. If you are using the fed why not support it? it is up to the members in every walk of life to support the group/club they are part of.

Ave always supported the fed in any way, but when you here about guys going to finish up because they have to pay this large amount of money, doo you think this is the right way forward like.

Tell me something then, doo they need the money ?

If all members send 10 birds every week, they are contributing £3.20 weekly. times that by the 16 races we had last year= 51.20 times that by 200 members = £10,000 approx, who pays the other £20,000?

How many members doo you no, send 10 birds, very little, so yer sums are incorrect.

Back to the drawing board and get some more realistic figures for me.

the fed needs in the region of £30,000 to operate, who pays that? members not birdage. My opinion.

as stated in the post above they had a surplus on the balance sheet A good one, and made profit of the racing so must have been able to get it as it was last year  :-/ and the constitution is if the fed is in debt each member pays their share , so really cant see any reason for such an increase when we are in the black both on the balance sheet and racing and money in the bank, last year worked out great so why the change, -??? a surplus money in the bank, so put up the FEES from £20 to £150  :-/

I dont have a balance sheet to hand as i never got one sent to me. I agree if the figures worked from last year and look to work for this year then leave it. I was under the impresion it didnt.

Ecky boy, am no tight with the lolly pop, you must have a few bob to fling around, pay mine if it gets passed then, Archie, you are right, if the fed needs money then the members have to pay, am all for that.
