bullcock Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 After the RPRA allowing members to cut off the lugs from the new ETS style rings, the SHU have now decided that these ring having been tampered with wont pass them for use. This means that after cutting the lugs off all these rings, birds will not be elegable to fly under the SHU or the SNFC, this is the most ridiculas situation which is going to create even more controversy something the sport has enough of at the moment. All I want to do is race my doo's without all this cr@p! >
WELSH WIZARD Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 rules are rules rings that are tampered with even though this is not cheating in any way.Tampering is not allowed under shu and snfc rules. If rules are allowed to be broken this could be the start of more hassle which in these present days pigeon men and women dont need it.
sapper756 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 I have to be honest and say I was very surprised when I heard the RPRA were allowing members to tamper with rings :-/ agree with the SHU/SNFC, no ring should be tampered with. JMO
mealybug Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 The North East Homing Union have also said they won't accept RPRA rings with the lugs removed.
OLDYELLOW Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 rightly so a tampered ring should be always invalid cant see why the need to take them off in first place , yes there hidious but thats the ring they made , big mistake i thought they were making the ring with the hole in for the peg chips
Guest tom123 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 why dont they put the politics on this debate regarding the does and donts to bed they are like school kids loking for a gold star and concentrate on other issues such has keeping the sport alive
pjc Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 the RPRA jumped the gun with ordering the rings and not getting the members feedback/opinion and are now backtracking to appease a few over the removal of the lugs which in turn means they aprove of ring tampering! Other unions have seen the problems and IMO are right not to allow rings which have been tampered with. I realy don't understand all the fuss, how many will be left at the end of the season to worry about and will it realy effect anything?
Guest strapper Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 i find it madness that the issuing union has ruled that the lugs can be removed but other unions call the rings void?...surely the actual part of the ring thats read isnt altered then i cant see a problem. jmo
north wales novice- Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 ho hum , a poor response to a problem created the R.P.R.A. own rule contradicts the removal also . whats done is past , look forward , move on . andy.
pearse1888 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 they should make a rule and stick with it .. there a joke .. ets aswell swapping and changing rules .. imo i wouldnt touch the lugs i dont think there a big deal that you really need to remove them .. and for ets a rule should have been brought out which sealed the pad inside the loft
Guest strapper Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 i think it will go down as one of the biggest mistakes of the rpra.
THE FIFER Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 its the RPRA thats wrong , the rings are made with the ligs so should remain so,
north wales novice- Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 i think it will go down as one of the biggest mistakes of the rpra. do agree with Fifer statement also , i dont like the rings either but thats how they are and should be left alone . jmo. andy.
Guest duncan mckay Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 if you tamper with the lugs then water gets in to the numbers when wet andtherfore you cant read it does this anwser the Q
Guest beautyhomer Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 As far as I am aware Romania have issued both types of ring for their fanciers to chose from (I have both in my collection). If the RPRA had done this there would have been none of these problems.

When you trial something you do so with only a small percentage and ask for feedback. Two RPRA wrongs will never make a right but let's move on. However I feel for anyone who has bought birds wearing RPRA rings and modified them before this rule was introduced.
