dal2 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 1 feed the same everyday2 weather then hours on wing3 once the week before4 canny mind what the question was....oh aye depends on if yer natural or widow but like them to throw a flight5 who knows everybody looks for summit diffo and if yer birds sit at home for 2weeks before ye will have to use yer knowledge cos the training basket wont tell ye
frankdooman Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 1 how do you feed birds for the distance2 how many races would you give them before their choosen race3.how often in the training basket.4 condition of the moult5 and what do you look for in super form.wing breast ECT. The one thing you can't do is hold back feeding to win in the early races then up the feeding for the distance just doesn't work Every bird can be different it's the experience of the fancier to choose when not to send and but they must have done 7/8 hrs 2/3. Weeks before the main event This goes hand in hand with the ans above They should have thrown at least 1 flight and no more than 4 Super form don't know if I know what that is the main thing is bred from a good distance family have worked steady threw the season just gen looking the part the rest is down to the wee man on your shoulder
budgie Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Wullie. 1)Contential breakfast in the morning ,Half ounce at lunch time and the balance including peanuts in the evening.2)4 races up to 270mile mark.3)Once a week.4)In condition does not matter 5)Real super form no one can tell u it just happens.
Guest slugmonkey Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 protein is the key ..... I send my birds every week ( the good ones ) earlier post was correct ( Dooman ) you cannot hold the feed early and then try to make up for it later ... the good ones this will not be a problem ... protein will help keep them in form so you can ship more races and the birds will recover faster .....
Guest slugmonkey Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I train 2 times and short when I have birds in form and off the line of flight 15 to 20 miles ... we fly south to north so I train east and west ...this isnt for conditioning but to sharpen their minds so they orientate quickly ...... I fly open loft and as stated race my whole team most weeks so I dont feel as though they really dont need a lot of conditioning ......
