Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Used my computer last night to present a Power Point. I can't get it to work today unless I connect a second monitor. I've switched it back to computer only, but whenever I disconnect the second monitor my screen on the laptop goes black. Any help out there? Must be something simple, but I don't know what they did last night when they set me up and disconnected me from the projector.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 need to change your screen display back to how you had it right click the screen at top is usually your graphics display if not then go to control panel and click display
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 Mark, I've been in control panel display and returned it to computer only, but whenever I remove the cable linking laptop with monitor my screen goes black.

THE FIFER Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 have you tried SYSTEM RESTORE , take it back to a date all was ok,
greenlands Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 So what you are saying is that the laptop screen is not working ??If that's the case either the screen is at fault or the tape connecting the screen to the motherboard is faulty.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 no he's had another monitor and transfer all displays to the other monitor and now those settings are classed as default now he needs to change them back , I duplicate so both screens display makes it easier
OLDYELLOW Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Click Start >>> Control Panel >>>> ADJUST SCREEN RESOLUTION adjust in there

OLDYELLOW Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 should be fine when he changes the screen from his projector / primary screen back to his monitor
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks for the help lads. got it sorted at the athletics club tonight. The guy who set me up pressed Fn key beside Ctrl and F5 and it sorted itself. he was a bit confused as to why it hadn't sorted when I disconnected the projector.
