Several times in the past few years I have had strays in my loft, I have contacted the owner who shows no interest in having the bird returned to him.Occasionally the stray will have an ETS ring on its leg.I ALWAYS ask the owner if he wants the ring sent to him.So far no one has ever taken up the offer.

Aye your right there Walter there's guys gurning about ets rings their more interested in the ring than the doo I've reported dozens of strays and yet to have a courier at the door it's a case of chip it up somewhere or something else it only bothers me if a bird returns with no ring which has happened twice the ones that's in nests or staying feral on farms whoever gets the rings are welcome to them as far as am concerned

my sources tell my that the PERIGRINE WATCH is going on in coatbridge flats wonder why this is as they were there for the past 15 year and they didnt know about them must cost them some amount of money to watch out for one bird of prey :animatedpigeons:

Just to make it clear I personally am not using these ETS rings but I might be placed in situation where I could be asked to register them. There are no identification rings either SHU or RPRA involved here

At the end of the day it is your decision weather or not you register these rings,it will be you who will delete the owners loft code and put the new fanciers code in,so really its how you feel about doing it.

OK I have given this a lot of thought and the bottom line is the pigeons which bore the ETS rings have been killed and eaten by falcons. If the rings can be retrieved from the nests of peregrines and the choice is ether throw them in the bin or use them on another pigeon it becomes to use the current expression a " no brainier".
