Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Having just installed my Unikon ETS i thought i would post a couple of pics Please feel free to tell me if you see any problems i might have with them
Guest mr mrs arnold sons Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 are they in side or out side the loft as rpra say they have tobe in side the loft
Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 As you can see by the top photo they are inside mate !!!
kelly tom Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Hi Jimmy Its looks good Best Wishes to you and your family for Christmas and a successfull 2009
kirky Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I would go for 2 extra pads to cover the area in front of bob wires and block off the 2 side bits as birds will land and walk about on bear wood areas.
frank-123 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 make sure it is well tested before you use it on race days jimmy i would put it under the bob wires a wee bit just so they stand on them just in case they miss the pad
gooner Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 if it is open doors to that section what stops the birds from being timed then flyuing back out, if there is nothing then my own opinion is that the pads are not within the confines of the loft. just my opinion
stephen steyert Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 confines does not mean confined problems with ETS rules they are open to interpretation
Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 thats a sliding plastic door on the front if i slide that along after the bird flys in then its inside the loft simple as that !!!
Guest spin cycle Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 if it is open doors to that section what stops the birds from being timed then flyuing back out, if there is nothing then my own opinion is that the pads are not within the confines of the loft. just my opinion shouldn't matter...after all after timing a conventional bird you could let it go again to fly round (not alot of point though). if you leave pads there all the time they'll get grubby...but if you only use them raceday will it 'spook' them while trapping. perhaps a false floor for them to cross daily then place pad underneath on raceday...i havn't got ets yet so i may be talking 'the proverbial'
retired Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 The birds in my trap can clock and if they wish then get back out as the bob wires sit after the pad as shown here - http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1229617673/ The rule is open to interpretation so i have gone along with my view of the rule.
Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 well i have been thinking about placing them on the underside of the plywood !!!
stephen steyert Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 i have just set 2 systems up this last week at different lofts , both systems i placed the pads under the ply wood well i have been thinking about placing them on the underside of the plywood !!!
maxwell Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Well it looks ok to me Jimmy but what do i know lol. Best of Luck with it get a few trial runs done Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas. Alun
Guest Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Confines means kept within, confined also means kept within. in both cases the rule is referring to the pads and not the birds.
naedoos Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 well i have been thinking about placing them on the underside of the plywood !!! Definately better under the plywood Jimmy, keeps them clean and the birds won't know if the pads are there or not so no spooking
Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Definately better under the plywood Jimmy, keeps them clean and the birds won't know if the pads are there or not so no spooking yes mate i agree i will shift them tomorrow !!!
Guest tom123 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 i would advise you to put a batton of timber in between the centre of the pads ,this directs birds across the centre of the pad has they have ben known to miss an entry if theres a dead spot
gangster Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 the only thing i see you need 2 do is put something in the middle between the pads in the centre between your bobs 2 stop any coming in between thje pads field if you can understand me maybe a piece of ply cut 2 an angle....that will stop em..........more likely 2 miss if you have multi arrivals
Guest karl adams Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 i think the trouble with the ets is the rules are at a minimum and are miss leading witch is y there is so many problems i think a good set of rules should of been put in place before it was let in
gangster Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 im afraid its not being policed by club officals enough...
Guest j.bamling Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 the only thing i see you need 2 do is put something in the middle between the pads in the centre between your bobs 2 stop any coming in between thje pads field if you can understand me maybe a piece of ply cut 2 an angle....that will stop em..........more likely 2 miss if you have multi arrivals yes mate i understand will change things around in the morning
