will Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Got a couple of youngsters in the nest just now,one of them has feather well down the legs and possibly showing on the toes.I got the parents from friends and there's no strain names mentioned, just their own families of birds that they have had for years.I was just wondering if there was any particular strain of birds in the past that were noted for their feathered legs.
Tony C Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 I use to have Boeykens that had feather legs, many more strains throw them though.
JOHNSEE Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Yes....there was a strain called GITS the birds often had feathery legs, some fanciers used to trim them off because trying to get the rubber race ring off the birds proved difficult and you were left with a handful of feathers....if you google the strain gits pigeons see what comes up....JBC/..
OLDYELLOW Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Gits , Gurnays and Tourniers had feather legs and guess they pop up in other strains as well
