Guest bernard_grizzle_smith Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 thanks you everyone more pics will be up when my trap has come its order . something else i got the birds sunday when shall i first let them out?
pjc Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 Looks great, well done! Take the offer of the Sputnik for the birds to come up into then when they've had a few days to get used to it keep them a little hungry and they are ready to let walk out in there own time! Don't force them out or frighten them or they may take straight to the sky. The first time i let my yb's out each year I keep them hungry let them walk out and chuck a few grains around the decking for them to peck at but because every time they are fed I whistle and shake the tin, when i'm ready to get them in (usualy after about 10mins first couple of times out) all i need to do is whistle shake the tin and they shoot straight back in the loft for tea.
Guest bernard_grizzle_smith Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 alright thanks that helps a lot ;D
Guest VINNIE Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 hi mate nice set up another way is before you let them out basket them in a wire racing crate and put on a table in front of the loft this way they see the loft and also you can basket train them with a drinker on a little trick is to sprinkle some red band in the water they will try to peck this and find the water at the same time good luck cheers vinnie
