First time for nearly three week I've seen these eggs uncovered, sometimes both cock and hen were sitting the nest together.Looks like a silver on the left.Sire is bred off a silver hen.

It won't be a silver from a silver hen unless the cock carries the silver gene!

Please read above," sire is bred off a silver"

This pair have bred silver hens for the last four years.

Have the silvers ever done any good for you?  :)

Gave most of them away, but what they breed seem to do ok.I've had them fly well as young birds and the odd yearling, but don't forget the amount that are bred percentage wise is very small compared to other colours ,so I can't condem them.

pete, try using a hair clip mate, i had same trouble and anyone ringing there young should check them when they are 5 days old just to be on safe side as they are definately smaller
