hotrod Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 My near neighbour has thief pouter pigeons , when he lets out a dyed hen the seagulls chase them , but leave any natural coloured pigeon alone .
Guest IB Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Seagulls will take young pigeons, as will crows. Joe Murphy had an instance in his BHW column yonks ago where folk were feeding pigeons in Princes St Edinburgh when a gull seized a youngbird by its beak and flew off with it. Granted they both give warnings when anythings about, but they are predators too, so be wary of them.
Guest ConsettFlyer12 Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 The crows i like,. theres a big oak tree a couple gardens down that they nest in they chase the seagulls away, aswell as the seagulls chase them.
lanarkshire lad Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Where I am there are plenty of them nesting on factory roofs. There is a guy that comes with his falcon to chase them away they go off their heads when this falcon does its stuff but as soon as it comes back to the guys hand they come back to their nests a waste of time if you ask me the best way to get rid of these menaces would to have a cull on them.I have had plenty bad traps with the ybs due to the noise from these gulls it spooks the ybs.
