Guest geordiejen Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 this organisation puts a very blunt point across, they dont see the caring side of our pigeons.we provide them with a safe and sheltered home.good quality food in abundance also lots of healthy vits and grits.there home is a place where they feel safe and secure otherwise they wouldnt want to return.also its a place where they can rear there youngsters not worrying where the next meal is coming from to feed their young.most of us paint a vulgar picture of the preditor problems with things like cats, birds.also our birds are kept away from diseased vermin.domesticated pigeons wouldnt be alive if it wasnt for us pigeon fanciers.these birds have been bred through the generations to be athletes and to our knowlege we wouldnt be flying them across channels, through fields and valleys if they werent perfectly capable of doing so.they talk about the dickens medals and other awards given to our racers during the war,d they think these birds were picked off the streets to carry out these enduring tasks of bravery.if all communications were to be from computers which can be intercepted by anyone in the world then maybe the only way the secrets can be transferred is by using the racing pigeon once more.

geordie1234 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 So we are getting it from the Bops and now these morons we need a miracle
Guest bigda Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 just changed there complaint we should change it and send it to the guy like this or betterDear Lord de Mauley, I was shocked to learn that there is so many people against the racing pigeon, as so many of theses brave captive birds won so many medals and lifes they saved during the first and second world war with captive birds the largest pigeon racing organisations in the UK revealed tens of thousands of birds entering the UK from international locations with veterinary examinations and observed by pigeon fanciers attempts to determine whether the birds may have been got at by PETA as they had no signs of any illness or disease. when they were sent to the races In these races, up to tens of thousands of birds are loaded into a lorry, shipped abroad, and fly back to the UK. By the time they are released, the pigeons have stayed in spotless cages . During the races, a massive amount of birds are lost due to birds of prey and many do not return directly to their lofts, creating serious concerns about exposure of these birds of prey and to other animals, contamination and disease in foreign countries from the birds of prey and in the UK, which may occur weeks or months later. In addition, given the nature of these birds of prey , exporters and fanciers can comply with the requirement that all birds entering the country are accompanied by a health statement or certificate. Please take action immediately to prevent further brazen violations of Defra regulations.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 The real Peta http://www.animalscam.com/peta_7things.php
BURNMOUTH PAT Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 The real Peta http://www.animalscam.com/peta_7things.phpUnbelievable how these people can judge and downcry racing pigeons
Guest Owen Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 I think we would all agree that these idiots know nothing about racing pigeons and are shouting their mouths off in a way that shows their ignorance. However, we all need to take this stuff seriously because the General Public are likely to believe some of this nonsense. We are at fault because we have done little or nothing over the years to gain Public Sympathy and understanding. I think we all know of a very small minority of members of our sport that have done serious harm to our image. And as we all know that a bad incident is something that will be remembered for far longer than the good things we have done. I will not go into detail here but I am certain that all who read this will know exactly what I mean. I wonder how many of the people who have benefitted by the donations we have made over the years will step forward and help us in our hour of need if the crunch comes. So maybe we should accept the challenge and get down to dealing with our Public Image and throwing our sport open so that it can be seen to be what it is. A lovely activity which is both exciting and educational. And instead of accepting the label of "Flying Rats" as a matter of course we should challenge this image and allow people to see how healthy and fit we keep our birds. As things stand now I think we vulnerable to the damage that a bunch of loud mouth clowns can do because they will keep shouting their message long and hard until people will believe that there must be some truth in what they say. I sincerely hope that members of our sport will get their fingers out of their bums and get the job done.
Delboy Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Good post Owen, I hope the Unions get a grip of themselves and fight our corner, when it comes to it.ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT NOBODY POSTS ON HERE NONSENSE THAT CAN BE USED AGAINST THE PIGEON SPORT BY THIS DESPERADO ORGANISATION.THEY WILL BE WATCHING EVERY MOVE WE MAKE.MAKES ME SICK THAT DECENT PEOPLE CANNOT ENJOY THEIR HOBBY IN PEACE.
Guest Owen Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Delboymaybe this will be good for us in the long run. We have nothing to hide although I think you would agree that we have room for improvement at all levels. I hope that this incident will prove to be the motivation we need to show people what we can do. The one thing I do know is that these Clowns have caused all sorts of agro in America. One of their tricks has been to try to get Pigeon Fanciers convicted for gambling which is a crime in some American States. They will drag the gutters and dream up all sorts on nonsense to try to get their way. I honestly think that if we keep our heads and behave as the decent people we are we will be able to deal with these fools. From what I have read about PETA they are people who do not believe that we humans should exploit animals for any reason at all. Not food, not dairy products, not sport nothing. If they have their way we will all leave the animals to live out their lives in a way that the cattle of India live theirs. Go where they like eat what they like and live a life untouched by humans. Meanwhile I think they think that we should all become vegetarians. Another group of fundamentalists to create havoc. It is a pity that Genghis Kahn is not about today because he would have sorted them out once and for all.
