Guest Owen Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 A guy came to see me yesterday and reckoned the both the Sparrow Hawk and Perigrine are hunting the street pigeons a couple of miles from here. He said that they are both taking these birds just below roof hieght. According to him they are chasing them down the street. In this area they used to swoop down from a great hieght but often missed. These days one of them, usually the female, flies with the group of pigeons until they part on off and then they both co operate to grab it.
Delboy Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 I had a cracking cock that was 5th west section yb national and helped me win the SNFC averages. The birds are always kept in after the yb nat and usually get out around April. The first time they got out he was killed by percy 10 feet above the loft.I watched percy fly away with him plucking all the feathers from his back, I was like a madman shouting and throwing things at it .*expletive removed* bop bassas
hotrod Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 I witnessed my youngsters getting chased by Percy after it stopped on them and missed ,from a standing start it caught up with them in seconds , I was told I was talking rubbish or it wasn't a peregrine .
