Tony C Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 After they've eaten feel their crops to make sure they're not just picking up the small seeds. If they are only feed large grains for a week, it might mean you'll have to sieve the mixture your feeding to separate the large from the small (if you only have a mixture & no straight grains)

Guest geordiejen Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 mate if you suspect something is wrong with a young one the best thing to do is to remove it from the others.its hard to monitor a bird with others around and if its got anying it could pass it onto the others.if you can i would put it or them in a breeding box or something to monitor them.its not a good idea to give them meds other than a canker tab as it can interfere with the development of the immune system.
geordie1234 Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 If this was happening in my loft I would either seperate them and see how they go or completely remove them. Personally for me once I have that bad gut feeling about a doo its better out the loft. Ofcoarse I have not seen these 3 pigeons it could be they are just a bit behind and are fine its almost impossible to diagnose anything on a forum.

Wiley Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Far north do you have any maize or maple peas separate? It's always wise after moving young birds to put them on only large grain for at least 4 days before introducing a mixture, it stops them for only going for small grains
