Looking for advice one of my stock cocks not looking its self it's eggs never hatched and he is holding soft food in the crop any idea what i could use to clear him through thanks in advance.

open the beak and smell the birds crop if it stinks its sour crop but it can also be adenovirus or what we call yb sickness where the bird is retaining food which also smells bad in both cases wash out the birds crop by filling the crop with water and force the water out if it comes out a green gunge its adenovirus if its sour crop give the bird sour crop treatment or charcoal tablets baking soada works to let me know how you get on m8

I had a few old birds with spongy crops a few years back and as walterboswell59 states y/b/s can be caught by old birds. The symptoms are slightly different to that of young birds, the main difference is old birds dont spew up. I cleared it up by giving them a Harkers Spartican tablet each which made them chuck up the contents of their crop. I notice Harkers have taken Spartican of the market so an alternative would be soda crystals popped down their throats.

hi mate when the eggs are due to hatch both parents have milk in the crop to feed the youngser.could it be that since the eggs never hatched then the crop milk has somehow gone bad?if so then i would do a crop flush and not feed it for a day.also apple cider vinegar in the water will help sweeten the crop.
