Wiley Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 What's your thoughts on a cock wanted to be treaded by his hen? Have a 2 yr old widowhood cock who is crouching after he treads his hen, for her to jump him. The only other time I saw this I think it was 6 years ago in the stock, and that pair bred that year 5 individual 5 first prize winners. The following year they was paired but they never acted the way they did the previous year. Someone then stated it's a showing of the ideal love pair? What's your thoughts have you ever seen it?
buster151 Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 I also have a pair of yearlings doing same, I put it down to there age, but hoping for some winners from them now ive read thisthey go through the feeding each other stage then he gets down
JohnQuinn Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 i've seen this but can't say i paid any attention to it, out of curiosity how were the youngsters from the 2nd year you paired them together?
Blue Chequer Pied Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Have seen it a few times but don't think there is any significence in it.
Wiley Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 John, I had pigeons to score from them, but they wasn't as potent as the first time paired together, but as I said the cock never acted the same. Infact they became better pigeons paired to different mates, But I hadn't seen the behaviour since until today.
andy Burgess Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 have seen this quite a few times in the widowhood loft .if it is a sign that the offspring are then winners ,i have missed out on every occasion .it hasnt worried me tho.

Cheers, i hope they fling you some more winners and the ones you have from them go on to score time and time again for you. Better delete this thread though cos Budgie might want yer pre-potent Ck
