Williedoo Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 The ring numbers are on the solr site now.
scottym7 Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 The prize money has now been adjusted/updated on the web page, now its fingers crossed to see what birds are still at the loft.. Scotty M
Guest bigda Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 BIG DIP IN PRIZE MONEY race program going to decimate birds chances quicker that you think, wouldn't surprise me if the winner came from a bird that got injured earlier in the racing and put back on the road. later
Big Wattle Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Are none of the folks that have paid £100 an entry interested that possibly only 1/2 the entered birds could still be on the go. Think the following latest news entry on the SOLR website was not put up on the right date but long after this looks like from the 458 paid entries there could only be 200 or so left going to be a lot of disappointed guys that entered. are the ETS rings assigned or not strange how they can tell how many later birds home. 09 July 2013 - Hi all the birds were tossed at Alnwick 1 (35 miles by road ) on mon everything went well ,when I got back o the loft 6 appeared straight away ,it was 15 min before another bird appeared and they were spread out a batch of 50 came and then they were coming in ones and twos all afternoon, at 7 I went for something to eatand was away for an hour in that hour 49 came they are still coming right up till dark. I would say that there was about 200 in the loft at night, the next day another 34 appeared I dont know what happened quite a stressful day for birds and me. Billy
Guest stb- Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 why is there not a list of the birds left and how many is left from the 458 , is there any basics birds left from the 14 sent ???must say the updates are very vague , ie birds home all over in 15 mins some late ones in the afternoon dont say how many or what birds , i cant see why the ets ring list is not there and the birds arrivals from tosses not recorded so folk who have entered there birds at least know if there birds are still actually there , think there going to be some big sickners come the first race when bird ring numbers sent are known .
Guest bigda Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 it now looks good for this years race to go ahead with 5 week left to put in appeal and another say 3 weeks to hear it, hopefully the main race will be over, as this should take us up to about the 3rd of September 2013 with the odd bird with nest conditions, this should see the birds OK and allowed to rear there young. allowing more timeafter the races i think it would make for a great pig sty where they could house it up wind from the moaning locals as it should have no problem as agricultural land, 50 pigs would be just about right up wind on a warm day

Big Wattle Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 OK fun is fun but a lot of folks have entered birds at £100 each they deserve to know the truth. all birds should have had ETS rings assigned before training after all the ets ring cost must have been budgeted for on the original 1000 bird proposal Or is this the owner reducing his costs. The proposal mentions 12 races but it has never been said apart from Nationals if these races are one loft liberations or with a club / fed / UNC. Question what is the best way to win a National. Answer set up a one loft race in a good position have top flyers pay £100 to enter birds with the lure of big prize money, they are then entered under the one loft owners name. At the end of the day how easier TO WIN PERSONAL GLORY THAN HAVE OTHERS PAY TO ENTER THEIR BEST AND YOU PICK UP THE PRIZES
