What in your opinion is the best time of the year to pair up natural pigeons aiming for the latter races (long distance)?

for me it would be mid march,

All depends if you are gonnae keep them natural all year Geo what races you are planning on going for and what pigeons you plan to send where mate...i paired up 1st week in march this season but that was more for my 3 what i thought was my best pigeons looking at getting them to the SNFC Gold Cup race...At the end of the day i got 2 of the 3 to the race (the other red cock went missing in the last 50 mile toss before Alencon) but on the plus side with a very nice bit of luck my fancied doo for Alenocn's eggs hatched out on the morning of basketting for the race and i timed her at 7.24pm on the shift that night but lost the cheq cock i sent with her as he chuched it in Liverpool so after talking to the guy that reported him i wouldnae send for him as he had chucked it just over 100 mls fae home and doos like that are no good to me now....

i fully intend to pair up my NFC birds in order to have the cocks sitting 10 days and the hens chipping out... each of my birds are aimed at a specific race point, therefore, each will be paired at a different time.

that said, the old birds will have its partner from the beginning of the season :)
