Pigeon Thos Posted November 6, 2012 Author Report Posted November 6, 2012 Brings back memories Tom. You got the other 2 Amal results from that season?I've seen a Newark one recently when tidying up. I'll have a rake and see what I've got.
JADE Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Amazing to get 9000+ birds when the SNFC can now only get 3500 from the whole of Scotland
Pigeon Thos Posted November 6, 2012 Author Report Posted November 6, 2012 Brings back memories Tom. You got the other 2 Amal results from that season?Found a YB Amal from Wakefield on 1st September 2001. Pentland didn't take part although Traprain did? and there were 5530 yb's. EOS cleaned up with only 2 Midlothian birds making the result. I was 116 Amal 2nd Fed. Not such a good day for Midlothian. I'll keep looking for the 200 mile race.

Pigeon Thos Posted November 7, 2012 Author Report Posted November 7, 2012 Scan attached of first 26 positions in YB Amal from Wakefield 1 September 2001. Summary shows Angus, Aberdeen, Dundee, EOS, Fife, Midlothian, Traprain. Midlothian's other open race was from Leicester that year. 1720 Birds but I don't know if it was an Amal
Guest big slim Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 It would be nice to think we could have Amal races again. A good way to judge how good your birds are, as in nationals most races the west birds dont stand a chance.
