If a fed member goes up the ladder, and he is still employed by a company, he falls off the ladder, who pays the guy for being off his work due to injury, broken leg, the Fed, ;) something that should be worked on for loading transporters. :(

the member jointly owns the transporter so you canny claim for fallin oot yer own vehicle , if ye fall and break yer arm or leg tough sh** , ave broke my wrists etc with falling aff stuff at work but it was my ain ladder so no one to claim ye just get oan way it :emoticon-0138-thinking: :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Rab, you are insured through your employer, the Fed runs like a business, so if you are hurt doing work like loading the transporter, suely you have to be insured by the Fed, :(

i was self employed cem the fed might run like a business but you still own part of it same as every member , any i see loading the transporters are doing it volantery and are not employed to do it so i canny see a claim huvin a leg tae stand oan :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

Surely the transporter is owned by the Federation and is the property of the members who comprise the federation. No one is forced or coerced into taking part in loading the vehicle all are volunteers and so even in our ever more litiginous society I cannot see a c laim going very far.I personally have never seen anyone who is suffering from age or infirnity being pushed into the loading which is always carried out in a spirit of enthusiasm and good nature.

also meant to say you need a ladder safty certificate to use a ladder over 8 ft from ground unless its your own property or vehicle your working on , but if its for anything else each person should have the appropriate certificate which apparently cost £180 to get one and only ones with the cert are aloud to operate a ladder :emoticon-0138-thinking: :emoticon-0138-thinking:so in that case best classed as the transporter belongs to the member

Age, ability/disability, health, all factors that need to be considered when expecting fanciers to lift heavy weights, and carry them up ladders etc. It is certainly something all clubs/federations, seriously need to address, as there are very few youngsters in the sport, and the membership is ageing each year.JMOhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif
