Had 4 doos back from the race today sitting on the loft with some old doos when they firstly froze, then scattered, just as they did scatter the hen sparr came round the side of the loft and was on the tail of one of my birds for about 40 yards before they disappeared behind a house. Next thing i seen was the bop heading for the heights, MINUS ma doo ........It was some chase though, i was sure she was gonna pin it considering it was just home fae the race and a bit worse for wear looking.

john as from next week my birds will locked up ,with a few late breds flying out. sick two the back teeth of them

Absolutely correct. A fellow club member told me that there were 4 percies in the air above where we live today. They were hunting in a group I pity any tired racers in the area.

We need to avoid racing at this time of year and concentrate on flying a few later bred birds.

Perhaps we should all keep a few pair of Birmingham Rollers to fly in August.

Same story here in rosewell... 4 percies above as birds were due home and a fellow club members bird was attacked as it came home. It had still not came home when he was at clocks so a chance the percie got it then followed the sparrowhawk!! I am also finished ybs now and will have late breds out all winter!!
