I think I'm just being a bit on the thick side,had to have the computer formatted everythings up and runnung OK.except when I install Chrome I don't get the normal home page.I get one with a load of crap on or another with the eight choices.

All I want is the home page with Google in the center.

Any help appreciated.

you can set up a default opening page rather than the 8 last viewed sites , click the spanner at top side to configure to the settings of your choice

How strange mate. I have just uninstalled it! It started the crap regards signing in, wanting add ons and pass words. I uninstalled it. Filled in their 'Why' stating all I wanted was a simple, quick no messing tool, and that Bing, or Yahoo will do nicely from now on.
