Again these wonderful creatures never fail to suprise me. Went to the loft 5pm last night saw a lovely dark hen stood amongst my youngsters. Picked her up and she had an excellent body on her and on checking the No,which was a 2010 pigeon I found it to be a hen which I had lost yb racing in that year. What now.?

If she has bleeched feathering (showing signs of living rough) I'd give her a chance. Something in her tiny mind has been triggered to make her want to come home.

Hi Tony,

Yep!! last five flights on each wing, completely bleached. Big roomy hen too. I'll certainly let her moult through and take it from there.

Many do as this black hen. Most try, but only a very few, small percentage come up to scratch. Most disappear too first time the wind is in face, or going a little tough. Maybe they have learned to cope so very well in the 'Wilds' that they know how to handle it, and ' ......Something in her tiny mind has been triggered to make her to enjoy the freedome she has missed. Who knows, but good luck matey, let's hope eh.
