Guest bigda Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 dose that mean the ten year old car is now worth £2,000 and a 8 year old car is £1000 or a nine year old ;D we will soon see a lot of private car sales now then, gone are the days of cheap run around bangers then ;D ;D
Guest joshdonlan Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 i think you have to buy a new car though so you need to splash the cash
Guest Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 The incentive does not go far enough.Don't think that someone that has a 10 year old car will really want to go and splash out on a new one. There should be a £2000 VAT refund on all new car purchases, then i might have been tempted.
greenlands Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Could make a good deal with someone,an old banger worth say £400 sell to someone wanting a new car but hasn't got a scrapper for £1000,you've made over the odds and he's saved a £1000.Then again if they haven't got a part x the way things are the dealer might knock off £2000 .Some you win some you loose.
Guest Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Surely it will not be as simple as go out buy yourself a banger and bingo £2000 off.You would think that there would be a period of ownership for you to be eligible for the incentive.
the pigeon_milker Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 i gonna buy a horse petrol 0 tax 0 maybe i walk then don't have too feed the bugger

REDCHEQHEN Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 They'll put their prices up by £2000 - simple - you don't actually think the public are going to benefit do you?
