pippaj Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Noticed a bird on my garden wall around 4pm yesterday, was still there at 9pm so we threw a little chicken corn down for her/him. Couldn't get close enough to get all the writing on her leg ring but it starts with NEHU then the next ones we could see are what could be an S or a Z and 9745. She was still there this morning until the bin men came and she flew off to the other side of the street and sat on an ariel for a bit but is now back on my garden shed roof. I did call the phone number for NEHU but was told to call back when I've caught her and got all the numbers, they can't do anything otherwise. Any ideas on how to get her safely or what we should do next, we are CV9 area.

pippaj Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 How long can they go before wanting food?

Lindsay Wow not like our chickens then that eat all day long Thanks, will just keep an eye on her then and hopefully she will stay at ours for a few days ready to feed.
pippaj Posted July 18, 2012 Author Report Posted July 18, 2012 Managed to get him today and a nice bloke from one of my local clubs came and took him for me as the phone number they had for the owner on file was wrong. The kids were sad to see him go though and I can't say I won't miss him being around either..
REDCHEQHEN Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Well done Pippa, thank you for caring I wouldn't be surprised if that pigeon was missing from a race which was a week last Saturday - from just outside Paris, birds have been turning up between the South West coast, and the Midlands trying to make their way home The weather was much worse than forecast (and hasn't been that much better since!!)
