rikki Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 Ayrshire fed having problems with the returns this year , they are hoping to turn the race programme for youngsters and go east there will be a minority of fanciers who will welcome this for advantage but never the less we must all see the bigger picture and hope it works , we can't overlook that we have some bad races to from this direction but overall not as bad ,let the majority decide ,we must let sense prevail !!

Novice Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 Ayrshire fed having problems with the returns this year , they are hoping to turn the race programme for youngsters and go east there will be a minority of fanciers who will welcome this for advantage but never the less we must all see the bigger picture and hope it works , we can't overlook that we have some bad races to from this direction but overall not as bad ,let the majority decide ,we must let sense prevail !! Everyone lost more pigeons than normal this year irrespective of route or loft location. The Ayrshire losses were increased by liberating pigeon in a temperature of 5 degrees into a North Easterly wind at Carlisle. However the man responsible and who had no birds in the convoy has blamed the route. He would have us race twice from Otterburn--nothing short of lunacy. What Ayrshire really need is to get on a route and stick on it irrespective of the fanciers who live on the coast and use their vote to gain an advantage. To reduce losses and also help the fed balance we need to think about fewer races and bigger jumps during the Percy killing season of August.Do you really think that sending the youngsters down the east into a westerly wind with all the potential for clashing will help---get real.Year on year the losses will escalate and changing route will not help.We need to get off our *expletive removed* and address the main problem by both legal and illegal means.Yes I am speaking of the winged menace which is really just entering the killing season now.
rikki Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 My kid's take that for a sore throat never tried it for the doo'sMyself and many others would not like to get involved in a blame culture ,but rather look at all options , wether it be east or west ,no use blaming anybody ,it was passed and was duly raced with dire consequences ,can't see this being the norm !!
Novice Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 Myself and many others would not like to get involved in a blame culture ,but rather look at all options , wether it be east or west ,no use blaming anybody ,it was passed and was duly raced with dire consequences ,can't see this being the norm !! Please correct me if I am wrong but you are blaming the route which is something you will never prove. What you and many others (quoting your words) need to do is have a look in the mirror. There has not been a decent fancier in Ayrshire since Jimmy Paterson passed on. Ayrshire fanciers are only too kean to quote geography as a reason for lack of performance and sit there in their comfort zone. The lofts are populated by sprint pigeons and many fanciers who feel their ego has been massaged if they top the fed from 38 miles.Topped the fed at 38 miles then put to stock. No wonder the young will not face a hard day.
rikki Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 I new j Paterson personally , he was good , so was Matthew Cowan
Novice Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 I new j Paterson personally , he was good , so was Matthew Cowan I knew both and others like Alex Spier, Alex Nesbit and Big Johnny BarrAll were good in their day and Matt only passed recently but had not flown for several years.Pigeons which would have flown through a brick wall to get home. Forgive me ranting but I am less than convinced about the change of route having sent pigeons down the west this year which have never been down there before.Maybe I am just missing having a race today.
rikki Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 Ur frustration is wide spread I have listened to it all ,we must talk and not argue ! Dialog the only way ur wright about the types birds there isn't enough of the right ones any more ,I could take you to a few fanciers with this type and are still at the top of there game ! They could fly any route , but sadly that's not the way it is anymore we must strive to keep bread and butter fanciers in the game ,

rikki Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 All fanciers everywhere get there turn ,some more than others we all have a commitment to enjoy and respect each other win or lose ! Especially when things ate going wrong ,kind words enjoy and lets all try and work it out carry on !!

Novice Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 what a bad attitude against your fed members I doubt if you understand the situation so would be well advised to refrain from comment.

Hi rikki who were you talking to in hawick I know it was'int me as you have already confirmed that via pm and its not timmy there's only one other guy its the above statement that does not make sence for somebody that flys in this area Ive had my fair share of strags in over twenty at least Ive had 5 solway in aswell.Ive only reported Two ayrshire birds on basics/banter the last one was last night and the guy is coming tomorrow for it from Beith the other 6 A birds were tossed over the OB season outside Peebles the other pigeon was a dalry bird and its not yours. As for this west verses east Ive raced down the west for years then the east back west now back east makes no differance here were you race its the same. the only differance racing east for me I have to train north Kelso up to Coldstream
