Delboy Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 IS A DOUBLE GRANDCHILD GENETICALLY THE SAME AS A SON OR DAUGHTER,ALSO IS A DOUBLE GRANDAUGHTER FROM A CHAMPION COCK GENETICALLY BETTER THAN A GRANDSON , ANY VIEWS MUCH APPRECIATED YES to both questions.
Guest IB Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Not sure what you are asking - by 'genetically the same' do you mean % breeding co-efficients? Go to 2. Calculation on this link:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbreeding If the question you are asking is does a double grandchild have exactly the same genes as a son or daughter then IMO the answer is no - my understanding is that only identical twins which sprang from an unexplained division of a single fertilised egg have exactly the same genes .
trevor9 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Report Posted June 28, 2012 Thanks IB VERY INTERESTING READING, I WAS TALKING OF PERCENTAGE AND THIS LINK EXPLAINS IT ALL ABOUT PERCENTAGE OF GENES
Guest maricelbill Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 i am only a novice but how can it be the same as no 2 birds are the same just as no 2 people are the same same genetically, not a clone, double g-children will have 50& genes of the grandparent is is inbred to. Direct children also inherit 50% of its parent.
