Pigeons flying out under supervision from first week in March

Score so far.

PEREGRINE FALCONS have killed two

SPARROW HAWK has killed one and injured two.

The two injured pigeons will probably not be fit to race.

The birds will now be kept in loft to preserve their lives so training is gonna be difficult.

The first Solway race is two weeks away.

I`ve gotta ask ,myself why the f*** do I do this

Thats it Alan.

If you could see where walter races to you appreciate his prob. Moffat canny be easy at the best but he is surrounded by trees that are perfect for the spar!!!

Anybody gettin hurt by these bassas deserve a medal for stickin with it. We dinny haveit as severe in Ecclefechan this year! The club members have been very vigilant in the war against the spar and their actions seem to be paying off!!! Not sayin there are no attacks but much less than in previous years?

Well it ai`nt ideal here far from it but as you say its good to see them coming back from races and I suppose I have just got to live with the problems, but you can see why my friend Yeboah and I have waged an unending war against the RSPB`s protection of predators.I have personally spoken at planning committee meetings and at meetings of the countryside and wildlife committee of the Scottish Parliament, so far to no avail.Which is why I am reluctantly compelled to view the RPRA`s latest initiative with some doubt but I certainly wish them well.

Kenny , down at wamphray has lost 4 so far all racers, he lost 2 in one attack on thursday ,terrible especially after feeding them all winter and with the racing so close, new member dave also at wamphray has lost 2 and had another taken on a training toss from ecclefechan , I myself had the cocks out for a fly and a bath yesterday without any problems(they must have known John Wayne was on lookout ) but have the small benefit of not having any trees around the loft although bet when the youngsters are out fate will catch up with me,with the widow cocks now on a routine they are either in the air or in the loft so only the peregrine to worry about there but as she is down on eggs wont bother me for a while now,The widowhood system sure is of major benefit regarding exercise compared to the natural system which i will NEVER apply again .
