OLDYELLOW Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 they need grit and minerals in front of them at all times especially during rearing , they use the grit to grind the feed to get the nutrients out of it the grit dissolves over time minerals and calcium is extracted this is what the young birds are lacking hence there pumping them up with water in a vane attempt to fill them as there under nourished
harky Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 yes m8 9 days on wards i will try that m8 thanks alot ive been a bit worriedEven diarolyte from the chemists, after all thats what we give our own babies when they have the squirts.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Would have said that the coci levels are high but since you say the old bird droppings are fine then it Sounds like the old birds are not getting their requirements from the Matrix, have found that iodine which is abundent in the black minerals is lacking in Matrix supplement and therefor the old birds are over dosing in other vitamins from the Matrix.

Diamond dave Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Black Minerals mate - It is essential to keeping young bird droppings dry. Are the old birds pecking at you as though they want something. I don't know whats in matrix but you need to give them black minerals first and foremost, red minerals and grit too.For me, I wouldn't put anything in the water. They don't need any chemical intake right now mate, just good food, clean water and fresh, daily, natural minerals.Good luck mate. D.D.

wings Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I posted on here a week ago for help with wet dropping the advice was great as old yellow says grit grit grit grit and also salt my young have never looked as good since I took the advice of grit salt and calcium.
wings Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I also added not on electrolytes to the water what a differance. Not every bodies cup of tea but I think it has really helped my you g birds and the stock birds
Uphill Lofts Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I would try a drop of cider vinegar in the water to stop the old birds drinking so much and Homoform in the food my self.If I had a similar problem mate.

yeboah Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I treat the breeders for canker when they are sitting eggs ,can then be happy with youngsters being healthy ,feed a good breeding mix until the youngsters are starting to eat in the boxes with the parents at that stage they get as many quality maples as they want, never used black minerals for as many years as i can remember as i found the old birds just went crazy for its salt content and drank far to much water, but at this game everyone to there own .
