Ive had this agument with a good mate of mine and hes is a good flyer he was saying he was not getting his yearlings coming from over the water say out of 12 he would end up with 3/4 end of season but down here in poole the water races start last week april first week may and i feel its to cold. so last season he had 10 yearling cocks i sugested holding them back untill the two carentan races in mid/end june and just keep them inland along the coast so he did and from those 2 races he never lost any of them yearlings. looking forward to see how they come this season for him as 2 year olds. So jmo be very patient with yearlings they are still learning and your future regards but like PIGEON_MAN says depends where you live Brian
