Roland Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 I think Billt's comment ‘Proud to be British’ sums it up, especially for me. Ditto I am proud to be British. Never really, no not ever thought other than the rest of the 'Home Counties / Uk were any different, but a collection of different traditions and dialects. Full Stop. Like many others I’d wager regardless from what side of the borders they are in. They have for centuries, and certainly the last 3 stood toe to toe against all and any foe. Have improved the ratings / standings in the world as 'Great Britain' etc. and if truth be known, will always do so. Like many more of the Irish want to stay part of the UK without independence, likewise so does Scotland. What gets me is the 'Platform' used to gain votes with the 'Proud Nationalist theme' that wins votes, but is no more than that in reality A 'Vote Winner' for Salmo now wants out of the vote - Yes possibly because it would end his reign, but of course wants to blame any and everyone else -the English especially - for NOT having a vote, hence saving face and his post. Hence why the untenable 'Wants'. No more than a get out - which may well turn to bite him upon the *expletive removed* later on. JMO
